Keeping Up With The Joneses

added by Kudzu 4 years ago A BM S

I looked around and took in my surroundings. I'd been hanging out by the bus station here in the suburbs. I was surrounded by detached houses with big yards. The one across from me was wrapped by white picket fences and I could see a woman in her forties standing on the porch, watching a young boy, maybe eight, playing on his phone on a bench in the yard. She was blonde, and was wearing a pair of tight jeans and a loose white shirt. I glanced at their mailbox and say their names. Jones. Perfect.

I idly toyed with the ring on my finger as I considered the options. Horses like myself? More foxes? No, we would try something more exotic.

"I wish..." I began, staring at the MILF across the road, "...that the Jones family across from me would become a family of anthro dragons, twice as big as humans." As I finished I felt the ground tremble under my feet slightly and I shifted on my hooves, watching as the yard of the Jones' quaint two story home started to stretch. It seemed my wish had some unintended consequences. The yard went from well tended green grass to scarred and cracked sand and the white picket fence twisted into iron spikes. Through the bars I could see the house change into a stone tower, outside scarred and scorched. I turned my gaze to the boy I'd seen playing and I watched as his phone disappeared and his fingers twisted into claws.

His clothes began to disappear and I averted my eyes. He was still a kid! "I wish uh-" I stammered, "Anthro kids still wore clothes." When I glanced black he had become a steel scaled dragonling, wearing a metal kilt of some kind. I heard his mothers deep shout, calling his name, "Andrew!" My eyes went to her and I saw a sapphire scaled dragoness. She stood ten feet tall and lightning coruscated off of the spiraling golden horns that swept back from her head. I could see the last of the pale human skin on her belly disappear and I noticed her belly was swollen. It seemed like she'd been pregnant to start with and the change had only made her gravid belly more swollen.

Andrew the dragonling spread a pair of steely wings and launched himself up off the ground in faltering juvenile flight. I watched as his father leaned out over the parapet, another steely dragon, and called his name once more, "Andrew Siccarax Jones! You get down this instant." The dragonling landed and staggered, and let out a huffing gust of fire.

"God, they're so embarassing." I heard suddenly, a rumbling voice beside me. I turned to see a pair of cobalt scaled breasts right at my eye level. I stared for a moment as I tried to understand what I was looking at. They were small, given the size of the woman they were on. I looked up to meet her gaze. "I guess so."

She grinned at me, sharp teeth displayed and I felt the urge to flee rise within me, the urge to find a group to defend me. It took me a second to master that feeling and as I did she spoke. "I haven't seen you around here before. Did you move in?"

I shook my head, "Uh, old lady. Left her purse." I gestured fitfully as her forked tongue darted between her lips. "I live across town. I'm a senior at McKinley." The girl grinned, "Ah, a lumberjack. My folks basically forced me to go to St. Clairs." She shrugged, "But what are you going to do?" It was clear to me that this girl had never been afraid of anyone, or anything in her life. She had scales strong enough to stop a bullet I bet, and if her mother was and indication she could breath lightning. Maybe that explained why she was being so forward.

She set a large clawed hand on my shoulder, "Say, pony boy, do you want to grab some food?"

I considered for a moment and made up my mind.
