Roy looked around the restaurant for a random item to target. Nothing caught his eye, so he headed back through a door marked “Employees Only” and entered the kitchen. He quickly spotted an open box, full of cheap, plastic toys meant to be given out with the Burger Bonanza Kids Meals. This month's toy was a goofy looking, cheap, plastic clown whose nose lit up bright red when you squeezed the toy's legs.
Roy pointed the futuristic device at the box of toys and pushed the button.
Nothing seemed to happen... until Roy glanced more closely at the box of toys.
They were no longer clowns!
Each figure had become a poorly-painted, cheap, plastic replica of Jessica Draper. Apparently, this month's Kid Meal toy was now an “action figure” of a teenage girl in a gray tank top and tight-fitting jeans.
Roy picked up one of the toy Jessicas. As he squeezed the legs, the toy Jessica's nose lit up bright red.
Just then, Roy heard someone else walk into the kitchen. He turned around and saw a goofy-looking clown with a bright red nose and a rainbow-colored wig walk through the door. The male clown was wearing a Burger Bonanza uniform, but also had oversized, floppy clown shoes and gloves on.
“Hey, Binky!” called one of the teenage girls in the kitchen. Her name was Amy and she had been one of Jessica's best friends. “How was your weekend?”
“It was totally lame,” replied the man in the clown makeup and rainbow-colored wig. He let out the petulant sigh of a teenage girl. “My parents wouldn't lemme go to Tina's party, so I had to like stay home and babysit my stupid bratty brother. And all he wanted to do was watch cartoons, so it's not like I could even catch up on any soap operas or nothing.”
Roy peered closer and finally saw the name tag on the man's uniform. It read: “Binky the Clown!”
“This is so weird,” whispered Roy to himself.
