Sara let out a frustrated cry as the armoured figure parried her attack away. It has become evident to Sara and Mai that the figure had just been toying with them the whole battle. After Freed launched his surprise attack Mai and Sara hadn't even been able to get one hit on their opponent. Freed had been taken out of the fight with a swift kick to his head. Sara lunged again and aimed her shortsword at the small gap just under the chest plate, only to have her sword knocked off course and deflect harmlessly off the armour. Before she could recover, Sara felt fingers wrap around her neck and hoist her up.
"Ha ha ha ha, is that all? Is this really the best you can do," the figure chuckled.
Mai swooped down to try and grab the figure with her magic wreathed hands and was kicked away when her target delivered a spinning jump kick while still holding her grip on Sara.
"You- you won't get away with this," Sara spat as she struggled to get free of the vice like grip.
"Adorable. And just how do you plan to stop me? Neither of you have been able to touch me, let alone stop me," the grip tightened slowly. "Face it little girl, I am far above your ability to-," the figure's voice trailed off as a bright light shone through the hole in the wall from outside.
They both looked out the hole to see a massive magic circle forming in the clouds above the rampaging hydra. And then like a hammer blow, a pillar of light fired down at the hydra and completely encompassed it. The monster's roars of pain and anger rattled the glass in the windows of the library from such a large distance.
The blast continued to fire from the circle for several minutes before it finally faded. Where the pillar had struck was completely leveled, everything inside turned to ash and leaving only a blasted circle of cooling rock close to a mile in diameter.
"And that shall be our cue to leave," Sara felt the grip loosen and she fell to the floor gasping for air. She heard the sound of a portal opening and closing somewhere towards the back of the library. "Think on what I say little one. Are you on the right side?" The figure disappeared in a flash of light from a teleportation spell. Gabriel found them a few minutes later treating their wounds in solemn silence.
