Max sighed. Today was the day. The college needed more space for incoming freshmen, and had decided to give the boot to Max’s building. They were moving to a smaller yet nicer building a mile down the road.
Max took his key from the desk, saw that he was rooming with somebody name Evan, and went up to his room. Upon entering, he took in his surroundings. On one side of the room was a bathroom. It was unusually spacious and had a large shower. A nice window on the far end with one bed right below it.
Max did a double take. There was only one bed. Max also noticed the lack of his stuff. The college had graciously decided to transport everyone’s stuff for them, but there was nothing in this room. Even if his stuff were here, there was no closer to hang them in, not a dresser to store them in.
There was a notice next to the door. It read:
Dear Students,
We apologize for the absolute inconvenience of having to move Boys Dorms 5 and 6 to a new building. To compensate for the lack of space, we have assigned two to three people per room. Get to know your roommate! You’ll be getting very close to them over the next few days. We do apologize for any spell gone wrong or added, we did have the students try to do this one.
Signed,
The Magical Department of Southern University
Max didn’t even know that they had a Magical Department. He didn’t have long to ponder. There was a knock on the door.
“Max?” came a voice from outside. It was deep and masculine. “They said there was only one key and that you would be up here. Can you open the door?”
Max was worried about who he’d have to be rooming with. He hoped Evan would be nice. He wondered, what would Evan look like?
