With summer drawing ever closer (and to some not fast enough) everyone at WSA was getting ready for the biggest school event at WSA, the WSA Junior Prom. While technically prom was for the Junior and Senior Classes, WSA's Junior prom was open to all high schoolers, especially since it was technically their first ever prom. But that didn't mean that stuff that were considered part of "prom tradition" wouldn't be part of WSA's Prom.
---
While there would be formal ware required, it was a lot less than what other proms required. There were even some that thought that the outfits were a mix of classy and casual. While it was true that the outfits required for the prom did show a lot of skin, with the "tuxedos" being more like formal "tank tops" and "short pants" and dresses with more "decorative cuts", it was already known that this was more for controlling body heat than anything else, not that there weren't anyone who didn't appreciate the "views" that resulted.
---
Another thing that was somewhat different was the all-you-can-eat buffet. While it was sometimes included in other proms, what was new was the labels that showed which dishes were safe for which Animalians to eat.
---
The general theme, since it was WSA's first prom, was Around the World in One Night. While most prom themes were "One Night..." somewhere, it was a bit more understandable because of WSA's emphasis on accepting cultures from around the world.
---
What was generally accepted as a "given", as some would say, would be those girls who would squeeze themselves into dresses "two sizes too small", as others would say. Because of that, dancing wouldn't be as high on the list as it would be on others. But if anything did "break loose", they would be allowed to step aside to cover up.
Also, since there were very few Animalians who were good at "ballroom dancing", that was also going to be downgraded, since the prom would be more about people having fun whether they were human or Animalian.
---
What was also considered part of "prom tradition" was the inevitable after-prom party. This was to be held at the new Kat's Klub. Because of the way that the Animalian Construction company could easily assemble buildings, the dance hall that Ella and Simone had wanted was done in a surprising pace of construction. While Ella and Simone were expecting it to be done by summer, they never expected it to be finished by the beginning of May at least.
Because of that, WSA decided to host their after-party at the Kat's Klub, both to celebrate the coming of summer, saying farewell to the 2019 graduating class, and also seeing the new dance club. Ella, after recovering from the shock, also managed to find someone to be in charge of the zero-proof bar/restaurant. While all they managed to get was that Ella's nickname for him was "Edmundo", it was clear that Ella was familiar with his abilities at running a bar.
What made the Kat's Klub different from the Meat Market was that there was absolutely no "dirty dancing", as it's sometimes known. As it turned out, during the media coverage of the Kat's Klub (filtered by the PR-MD, as usual), the original intent was to have a place where everyone can dance and have fun, no matter their age. And since the Kat's Klub was finished so quickly, it was decided to allow the WSA to set their party there to both "break it in" and have it as part of their advertising.
