And so Josh found himself sitting alone at Asstronomical the following evening. He hadn't wanted to return to the bowling alley after running off yesterday. Embarrassing. But maybe the quiet bowling alley would be preferable to this. The bar was very crowded and Josh felt a little awkward about approaching a man he didn't know. And what if he ran into someone he knew? He knew some girls from work went to gay bars. That would be even more embarrassing.
He was so absorbed in these thoughts and the cheap beer he was sipping that he failed to notice someone take the stool next to him until their leg bumped his thigh. He turned to see an extremely handsome man! The guy's olive complexion contrasted nicely with his snow-white teeth when he gave a friendly smile that reached his green eyes.
"Oops! Sorry about that, dude!"
"S'no problem," Josh mumbled. He'd already had a couple beers and this guy had caught him off guard. Josh's eyes lingered hungrily on the man's square jaw, his bulging biceps, and the pants the perfectly emphasized his sizable bulge. The man gave a small smirk as he followed Josh's eyes down to his package. "Uh, sorry," Josh said.
"Like what you see?" the guy asked. Josh blushed and nodded. The guy gave a kind smile. Turning away, he calls to the bartender. "Two beers, please! One for me and one for my friend...?" He trails off, giving Josh a quizzical look.
"Josh."
"A drink for my friend Josh!" He turns back to Josh. "The name's Ted. What brings you here?"
"Nice to meet you, Ted," Josh says. He finishes off the beer in front of him, pushing it aside. "I'm just here to look around, meet people. Honestly, I've never been to a gay bar before."
Ted smiles again at that. "I could tell. That's one of the reasons I came over here." The bartender brings the drinks over. Josh takes a sip as he decides how to respond.
