The Mother's Day weekend started on Friday and continued to Monday, and included several special events especially for mothers.
The Cavern Spa had several spa packages available for mothers, especially at reduced prices. Many mothers were taking advantage of this, especially with those who were expecting. While the members of Project Hermaphroditus who were pregnant were rather confusing on how to label them as qualifying for the discounts, they were ultimately allowed.
There was also "Mother's Day Specials" at the various restaurants in Animalia. While there weren't too many incidents going on from this, there were still laughs being had every now and then. The most common source of these laughs were relatively newborn Animalians throwing their food or bottles on the floor, then seemingly laughing about it, much to everyone else's amusement. Though the parents tried to keep the onlookers from "encouraging" the children, it was no secret that they were entertained by their antics.
Probably the most surprising thing that happened (but not really bad) was a visit from two echidnas from the Australian colony. Part what made it surprising was the fact that the female had a pouch that had a newly hatched infant inside of it. Another part of what made it surprising was that it was revealed that he was hatched, which to many uplifted Animalians and several converted Animalians (especially Elly and Adi) was really confusing. The official records showed that they were amongst the first Australian wildlife to be uplifted. But the funniest thing that resulted from meeting them was a joke about how the infant Echidna wouldn't be spending all his early years in his mother's pouch.
"... but as soon as he starts sprouting some quills of his own, out of the pouch he goes." confirms the female echidna. "Sorry, kiddo, but your days of being a 'pouch potato' is numbered."
At that, everyone who heard the joke either started laughing or groaned at how bad the joke was. The juvenile echidna Animalian seemingly agreed by making an "egh" noise as he pulled his head below the pouch opening.
