Keith opens the door and begins to speak to the landlord, whom you and Keith have previously had some problems with in the past. “Hey, what do you need?” Keith says. You can sense the worry in his voice.
“I heard that you have multiple dogs in your apartment. The neighbors could here all sorts of barking, you know I only am allowing you to have one.” Keith seems surprised by this statement. You thought you weren’t allowed to have any dogs at all. This is good news for you at least.
Keith plays it off nicely. “Oh yeah.. um.. I just found these two other dogs outside the apartment, i didn’t want to leave them out here so I was gonna take them to the shelter.”
The landlord walks over and pets you on the head and then scratches you under the chin. He does it so casually it seems like he’s done this many times before. “Well I was actually just about to head there myself, my daughter has seen your little doggy here and fell in love. She’s been begging me to get her a dog of here own.” He continues to pet you all over, you tail is wagging all over. “I could take these other two there myself, to save you some time.”
Keith is supposed by this, you would’ve thought the landlord was very against dogs, the way you’ve seen him act previously. “Uhh. Yeah that would be nice. Thanks.”
He hooks leashes to the two collars. “Alright buddies, we’re about to find you a new home.” He says as he walks out the door with the two dogs. The German Shepherd seems perfectly content but the the bulldog is barking and panicking. “Wow this is a firstly little one.”
He turns the corner and walks out of view with the two dogs. Well that’s two problems solved, you guess. Keith looks at you. “I kinda like you as a pet, I might just keep you this way.” You whine at the thought of being kept as a husky. It is true though, that you really do like being a dog.
“How about a treat!” He says. You ears perk up and your tail starts wagging. You realize now what a great sense of smell you have. You can smell the bacon you lest in the fridge yesterday. Keith opens the door and tosses you some. It tastes much better then before.
