The sun was streaming through the windows. Chad hung there limply. At least he was dry. He guessed it was about 7:30 am from the morning light. He was hanging the wrong direction to see the clock.
There was a knock at the Home Ec door. Then the latch turned, and Rick stuck his head in.
"Hello? Assistant Coach Sanchez sent me over to get the towel, since I finished laps first and need to shower, " he added unnecessarily.
He walked into the room, and over to where the white Terry cloth version of Chad was hanging. Ms. Saunders emerged from her office somewhat dishevelled.
"Is this the towel? It looks kinda like Chad."
Chad mouthed silently. "Help me, Rick."
"It is the towel and it is Chad," snapped Saunders reaching for the ring. Chad became an ordinary fluffy towel. She handed it to Rick.
"Sweet!" said Rick grabbing the towel with both hands.
"After toweling off, just push the button on the ring and he'll be a nice clean dry towel again. At least on the outside. "
"Cool!" Rick said as he started to run out of the room.
The office door opened and coach stood there yawning, naked except for a pillow in front of his crotch. He asked sleepily, "Are my clothes dry?"
Rick suppressed a snicker, and trotted out the door. He had at least a half hour to use Chad before the rest of the team finished practice. He was sweaty after winning the race running laps. Bruno almost passed him at one point, but he could not keep it up. Rick sprinted back to the locker room. He shucked off his clothing and wrapped Chad around his waist and headed toward the shower room.
