Carefully, Shanna carried her new friends to her kitchen sink. She set each of the four tiny animals down on the counter and ran the water lukewarm. She put in the sink stopper and filled the water only an inch deep. They were, after all, very tiny in size.
One by one, the self-proclaimed witch carefully let each of the animals climb into her hand one at a time. She lowered them into the sink and let them step off. The wolf went first, letting out a happy growl as she hit the warm water. This was followed by Reham, who gleefully trotted off the giant human’s palm and eagerly began splashing and setting herself down. Erik next, who was forced to swim with his very tiny stature, and finally the giraffe.
Smiling, watching her new friends splash and swim and shake, Shanna grabbed a soft brush, a cup, and some soap. “All right, who’s first?” She dropped her palm into the water.
Erik eagerly paddled towards the giant hand and let out a happy honk as he stepped onto her flesh, dripping.
Whatever residual spunk was left in Erik’s feathers was thoroughly scrubbed out with Shanna’s gentle brushing and some clean fresh hand soap. She doused him under her cup and Erik threw his head back blissfully as his dipping pink feathers had the shame washed away.
Satisfied, relieved, the flamingo honked happily and leaned down to nuzzle Shanna’s hand. She smiled happily and rubbed the top of his head with her finger, raising him from the sink and letting him shake out and begin drying.
Reham was next. The camel ran and splashed through the water, the wolf chasing her playfully, and jumped into Shanna’s waiting palm. Like Erik, the washing was cathartic. She sighed in pleasure as Shanna scrubbed her fur clean and rinsed her out. The camel smiled appreciatively and need. Shanna set her aside as well with Erik.
The wolf seemed annoyed, but let the giant wash her none the less.
Finally, the giraffe. With the other three exploring the countertop, Shanna carefully tended to the giraffe, cleaning up her hindquarters and delicately scrubbing her from head to hoof. The giraffe loved the tender attention her human saviour was showing her. She lovingly kissed the giant’s bare wrist.
“You’re welcome.” Shanna whispered, seeing the giraffe’s appreciative expression.
With all four now cleaned and drying out, Shanna considered the dietary needs of all her new miniature animal people.
“Well, guys!” Shanna said. “I don’t want to make you sick, so I’m going to stick to what I know your respective animals would eat.”
This seemed agreeable to them, so Shanna started making a light romaine salad up as she took a strip of meat from the fridge and began to cook it. The wolf clapped her chops, to which the witch giggled.
“Yes, wolfy, that’s for you.”
A skewer of shrimp later, sizzling, and there was soon a meal. Shanna set down a lid from a chip can with the salad for the giraffe and Reham while Erik got ground up shrimp, greens, and the wolf got some finely cut beef.
She picked them all up and carried them to the table to eat, while Shanna left for the living room to rifle through some old books. “You guys make a noise if you need anything, okay? I’m going to see if I have anything to help your current situation.”
