Ty sent a mental message to Dustin to report to Mr. William's room immediately. It was as if the message had come over the PA system but only Dustin heard it.
Dustin showed up just as Mr. Williams was exiting, "Notes are on the desk, thank you." he called as he urgently left.
Dustin noticed Ty and rushed over. "Where is Mr. Williams going, err... James" he whispered. "Class is going to start any second." Students had begun to filter in.
"I sent him home on a... personal day." Ty said sheepishly.
Dustin looked at the students coming though and laughed. "Nice, He is going to get in SO much trouble for leaving the class unattended. If the kids all keep their mouths shut, it could be half the day before the office even knows!"
"Well, I already arranged for a substitute teacher, James is already being punished, I didn't want him to loose his job too." Ty explained.
Dustin's t-shirt had already morphed to a button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up and he had aged to 20. His blonde hair was buzzed short and his stubble had filled in. He now towered over Ty being his full adult height and had maintained his the bulky build he had just started to gain. He looked good but this was just the beginning.
"Oh really, who" Dustin asked oblivious to the changes.
Ty stifled a giggle and wished the mental changes would take full immediate effect. "You Mr. Dustin."
Shocked and assuming he was unprepared, "But I don't know the first thing about..." He recalled classes on adolescent psychology and workshops, going through job interviews and being a teacher's aid. "But..." He remembered studying Mr. Williams notes on the material and reading up on the students personalities and what they are struggling with. He was as prepared as any teacher would be. "Well I don't want ..." the words felt like a lie, he did want to do this, he loved teaching and this was his chance to pursue his passion!
Dustin was now 22 and had continued to fill out. His blue jeans shifted to black slacks and his wallet and ID changed. "You'll be great Mr. Dustin!" Ty said enthusiastically seeing that he won. Dustin sighed, "We're going to discuss this tonight." his anger was mitigated by his excitement. "Get to class." he said dryly.
The unkempt stubble shifted to a full goatee mustache as the physical changes completed and Mr. Dustin became 24. He was the hot young substitute teacher, able to relate to the students really well and passionate about teaching. He was prepared for class and was an excellent and engaging teacher. The mental changes included a new level of outgoingness, subject knowledge, and a whole slew of tools to engage students and deal with situations.
When he wasn't focused on Ty or thinking about how he is really a 16 year old, everything came naturally to him, even engaging with other teachers in the teacher's lounge and he found himself telling stories from his college days and drinking black coffee which he previously couldn't stand.
