A ram. Kassidy had turned into an anthropomorphic ram. Craig eyed the ram nervously, and the sheep smiled back, almost inviting him to bask in his glory.
He was taller than Craig now, and his curling rack of horns only added to his majesty. Kassidy's formerly tanned skin had become a dark-grey hide, which contrasted starkly against his new coat of white, wooly, fur. This dense pelt of ivory curls covered most of his body. Only his cloven hands and feet, his ovine snout and face, and his ears were spared. His "hair" was styled into a masculine pompadour that was three inches tall, thick and curly, white and wooly, and a far cry from Kassidy's brunette locks.
"Kassidy?" Started Craig, but he was cut off by the ram snorting.
"Kassidy?" I haven't been called that in years! You know I'm called Cass, Craig! What're you doing here, anyway?"
Before he could respond, Cass gestured for Craig to follow him into his home, which he did so reluctantly. It was surprisingly clean and spacious. Cass grabbed an apple from his fruit bowl and plopped down on his couch, munching on the green treat. He invited Craig to sit next to him, patting the cushion for emphasis.
Craig slowly sat down and crossed his arms defensively, almost intimidated by the big ram lounging beside him. This was not what he was expecting! "Cass...I'm sorry about those tapes."
The ram tilted his head, pompadour swaying slightly. "Why are you sorry about those tapes? Sure, they didn't make me any smarter, but they were pretty relaxing, you know? Nice green fields, relaxing music, all that jazz."
"You're not upset that you're a ram?" Asked Craig.
Cass laughed, and his shook his head, wooly hair bobbing slightly. "Of course not. I'm proud to be a sheep. I've loved it since the day I was born." He stared at Craig suspiciously, his amber eyes rather intense to look into. "What does that have to do with your tapes?"
Craig laughed nervously, avoiding eye contact. "Oh, you know...I just thought that you wouldn't like those cassettes...because you're a ram."
"Nah, it's fine, Craig. But you walked all the way to my house for this? It's pretty late, and you look tired. How about you crash here for the night?"
Craig sighed. He'd really rather not spend the night with whatever Kassidy had become, but he needed his tape and walkman back. "Sure, I guess. But can I get a ride in the morning?"
"Of course, you know I'm good for it," said the ram as he tapped his thick, hooved, fingers together pensively. "But now that you're here, wanna play a game?"
Craig agreed and the ram handed him a Gamecube controller. Soon, the unlikely pair was playing Smash Brothers, and Craig's concerns were temporarily forgotten. The pair played for hours, and eventually Craig was nodding off. He rested his head on Cass's wooly shoulder, but it was getting harder and harder for him to stay awake.
Cass was warm and soft, and his wool felt so nice on Craig's cheek. The last thing he thought of before he fell asleep, was that very faintly through the dense pelt of wool, he could feel hard muscle underneath.
Eventually, Cass noticed that Craig had fallen asleep on him. He looked at his sleeping friend and smiled. He didn't want to wake him up, so he decided to fall asleep on the couch too. He ran a hand through Craig's hair, before he wrapped his wooly arm around him like a blanket. Soon enough, the cuddling pair had fallen fast asleep.
