The Magic Shop

Changes in the enemy and a new reality

added by O 4 years ago O Reality alteration

As Kellie, Jack and their friends now headed towards the exit, Kellie reflected on the conversation she had with both Lilith and Circe.

The two all powerful witches had approached Kellie after the hourglasses magic had been reversed. Kellie had expected the worse (she had spanked Lilith and threatened to spank Circe), instead she was completely flabbergasted by what happened. Lilith had treated Kellie with cautiously, almost as if she was worried what the teen could do to her. While the ancient witch still viewed Kellie as an obstacle she choose her words carefully, even wincing when Kellie appeared annoyed. If Kellie didn’t know any better she could of sworn Lilith treated her like Kellie had been her babysitter or even parent.

“Can someone explain what that was,” Kellie exclaimed as they made their way towards the exit. Jack shrugged, he had a theory. “I think so but it’s going on sound nuts,” he said. Kellie stopped in her tracks as she now impatiently waited. “I’m all ears.”

“Okay,” Jack started. “I’m no expert on the hourglass but I know it’s powerful and can have a greater influence on those affected than the Ring of Age ever could.” Kellie nodded, gazing at Jack as he took a deep breath.

“The thing is this,” he said. “When my mom and Aunt Circe were turned into children it changed their history, which is hard to do considering not only their age but their power. What happened to them when they were children influenced how they behaved when they grew up and the spell ended.”

“So your telling me that me disciplining and yelling at those two when they were 6 changed them as adults,” Kellie stated, still confused. Jack nodded as he gazed at his ex. “Yeah pretty much,” he shrugged. “Basically you altered the two of them. Instead of viewing you as some annoying teenager they see you as their old babysitter. They may not be your biggest fan but deep down theres a respect for your authority. They remember you taking care of them when they were children.”

“So we freaking altered their reality,” Kellie groaned. “That’s freaking perfect. Now I’m the old babysitter of two immortal witches.”

“It’s not that bad,” Katie added, trying to lighten the mood. “I mean, at least they’ll think twice before trying to do anything against you.”

Kellie frowned as she rubbed her eyes. Yes it did have some advantages, but Kellie knew deep down that altering reality in such a way could cause more problems than they were worth. She just wasn’t sure what those changes would be just yet. “Yeah maybe,” she sighed. “But we’re going to need to keep a close eye on them. Who knows what may have changed.”

“Your telling me,” Jack grumbled. “I mean you heard what my mom said. As we were leaving she asked Circe if she wanted to go out for a mani/pedi. Mom and Circe have never been on the greatest terms and now they seem to act like they’ve been best friends all their lives.”

“Well at least things can’t get any weirder,” Samantha offered, forcing a smile.

As the group now approached the exit, they noticed a portal begin to swirl in front of them. Jack and Kellie paused before turning back towards Samantha with a frown on their face. “You just had to say that huh,” Kellie grumbled, causing the half Samoan teen to blush. As they now watched the portal they noticed a goth teen exit. Kellie immediately recognized the girl, giving her a curious look. “Ann,” she questioned. “What are you doing here? And how come your a teenager?”

Ann gave Kellie a curious look as she now stepped through the portal. “What are you talking about mom,” she asked, brushing her dyed hair out of her eyes. “I’ve always looked like this. Geez mom and dad, do you ask questions like that whenever Katie or Gloria come to visit.”

Kellie and Jacks eyes went wide as they processed what Ann had said. Before either one could answer they felt a shooting pain in their heads. Jack and Kellie rubbed their temples as the history of the teenage Ann now flooded into their minds. Ann, the dreary goth teen in front of them, was the youngest daughter of Kellie and Jack. This girl was from a reality in which Kellie had given birth to her and then wished Jack out of existence. This third reality that the two were now privy too was quite similar to one their daughter Katie existed in. The difference was that instead of Ann being Kellie sister, she was now their youngest daughter.

“Ann,” Jack questioned. “What are you doing here?”

“I just needed to see you daddy,” Ann groaned. “Between Gloria getting on my case about my magic and Aunt Lisa bugging me about Samantha’s wedding I like just needed to get away for a minute. Is that like so wrong?”

Kellie groaned in frustration as she gazed at the gothic girl who was now apparently her youngest daughter. Whatever had caused this new reality to form, she would have to deal with it. Kellie now not only had to worry about Katie but an alternate version of Ann that was her daughter. A girl who Kellie feared could be in Lilith, Circe, or the Kitsunes crosshairs. “Just my fucking luck,” she groaned.
