Weeks pass and Damon and Monica were enjoying their new lives as merman and mermaid.
Damon’s body grew more muscle and became stronger, while Monica’s body became more slender and graceful under the water. Swimming for weeks on end was a big help to the couple, achieving the bodies of swimmers in relatively little time.
The rainbow wish stone became a part of a golden necklace that hung around Monica’s neck. While the two agreed to use the stone only when absolutely necessary, it didn’t stop the couple from occasionally indulging on their smaller desires here and there.
Monica, after becoming a mermaid, often used her wishes to decorate herself. Her hair became longer and adorned with seashells, with a laurel wreath sitting proudly on top of her head like a queen. On top of that, Monica wished for bangles and pearls to be on her body for accessories, including having the rainbow stone be a part of a golden necklace she wished for.
Damon didn’t mind Monica’s wishes, though. He enjoyed seeing his girlfriend having fun with the stone and using it be more confident in her body. Her decorations only made her body more beautiful and attractive, making Damon proud to be her partner. He'd be lying if he said he didn't use the stone to wish himself a stronger tail.
The love the two shared only seemed to become stronger once they started their new lives as merpeople.
It didn’t take long until Damon and Monica met more merfolk along the way once they came across a colony of them. Some of the merfolk were quite skeptical of them since they were new, but they all understood once Damon and Monica told their stories.
They were fascinated. It was crazy to think that humans could come across such a magical stone and later be turned into mers because of it. The couple were greeted with open arms and offered a place to stay.
For a week, Damon and Monica got the hang of mermadic life and grew accustomed to their new underwater home. One day, the two laid on a comfy seabed and Monica soon fell asleep, but Damon was kept awake for a while with a question on his mind.
“How’s our family doing up on the surface?”
