"Julie has tiger ears, and they're beautiful." Joy's smile grew as she spoke.
"Joy... What?" Julie stammered. She felt a rustling at the sides of her head. In a split second, her ears exploded with sensations of both touch and sound. Two ears the shape of small bowls emerged from her cinnamon hair. They were covered in orange fur, with black at the tip and a large dot of white in the middle of the back. Light white fur lined the concave interior. They swiveled toward the crowd, picking up even more "ooh"s and "ahh"s than Julie could hear before. She even picked up a whispered conversation between two bored people in the front row. ("When's he gonna change something else? This show is taking forever.")
Julie centered her gaze at Joy. "What have you done?"
"I-I'm sorry," Joy whimpered. Julie almost jumped back at how loud she sounded to her feline ears. "But that's what I see. It's what I want to see. I thought you looked sexy in those tiger stripes. Then you grew that gorgeous hair, and you kept getting more beautiful. I wanted you to keep going."
Julie placed her hands on Joy's shoulders. "I don't. I want to be human again." She was a little disturbed by the realization that she almost agreed with Joy. She looked down at herself and sort of liked what she saw, too. If Lupo had told her ahead of time he'd be transforming her, none of this would be so traumatic. It'd probably be...fun.
Joy covered one of Juile's furred hands with her own. "Why? Being human sucks. We don't have cool-looking fur or tails."
Julie's ears flattened against her hair. "C'mon, Joy. You can change me back. Just stop believing!" She looked over Joy's shoulder. Lupo was grinning. Was he up to something else? "Please. Do you really want a tiger for a sister?"
Joy smirked. She closed her eyes and started to say something.
