Settling June's new role as "Junior", that left the question of what to do with Mark... the idea that Dustin and Mark would have been the parents of the new infant seemed wrong to Ty. Sure he had reality bending powers, but even if he did change that relationship, Ty would know, and there just felt to be something off about it. Changing ages and roles? Sure, that was fun. But unintentional incest? That was an entirely different matter. No, Mark couldn't be the father of "Junior" and most especially the husband of Dustine, this was becoming rather clear to Ty. So what should he do with him in this new family?
The easiest thing would be to make him Junior's twin brother, but that didn't really feel all that satisfying to Ty--not after all the years of humiliation and frustration that had been heaped upon Ty from Mark, disappointed that Ty wasn't shaping up to be another Dustin. And Dustin had always looked up to his Dad and taken his lead. As Mark had grown tired of trying to change Ty, Dustin had taken it as permission to tease Ty more and more for not meeting the same expectations that Dustin was able to satisfy. And Mark had simply let it happen, whether he'd thought that the "competition" among his "sons" might toughen Ty up, or serve as punishment for Ty's inability to be molded, it didn't matter, the effects were the same. Dustin and Ty's relationship had evolved over time to what it had been because of Mark. Dustin had learned how to be the teen he was from Mark's actions and inactions. It only seemed appropriate that Mark have to unlearn his bad behaviors. Yes, that seemed fitting. Which meant that he'd have to get very young to be "reeducated" as Ty was starting to think of it. But he wouldn't be Junior's twin brother, no. That left only the question of whether to make Mark older or younger than Junior, and in asking the question, Ty had his answer. Mark had been the one to lead by example, now it would be his time to learn as the little brother. That meant that Mark would have to get very young, almost to the point of conception, if not conception, which meant that Dustine would need a husband to help her raise these wayward sons right, to teach them how to be respectful to others, and how to protect others, especially those weaker than themselves. And the more he thought about it, the more Ty realized he wanted to be that father.
"I wish that Dustine was Mark's mother, and that Mark would grow younger until he was at the point of conception and beginning to grow inside of Dustine over the course of Dustine and Junior's transformations. I also wish that as they transformed, I would grow older, becoming the man of the house, replacing the hole Mark leaves and become the father to Junior and Mark, and husband to Dustine. I wish that that's the way the world and everyone would remember it, except myself who can remember both realities."
And with that, Ty knew his life was about to become better.
