After Emily finished sliding the photos under the bed, a lightbulb went off in her head. He neighbors may have left, but she still had prime candidates for transforming in her own home. She felt a little guilty at the idea of changing her parents, but she quickly talked herself into it with the notion that she could "easily" change them back later.
"I think I have a feel for how this thing works." She said aloud to herself. "Besides, I can always just try and try again until I do. Reality changes anyway so it's not like anyone will care." Emily reasoned as she hustled downstairs.
She peaked around the corner once she was at the top of the stairs and was able to sneakily view what her family was up to. Her father Paul was writing something while sitting in the dining room, her mother Olivia was taking a nap on the couch while food was still cooking in the oven for dinner, and her younger brother Dylan was just leaving the bathroom.
Emily watched as her brother walked over to her father. She sneakily brought the camera out, thinking this was a great opportunity to try it out. "Okay Emily," She thought to herself, becoming a little nervous. "You're gonna change Dylan and Dad, but just focus on something small like clothes change or something and it won't be too crazy."
Of course, this is not how the camera of changes operated, and Emily was about to learn the hard way. The flash went off and Emily's jaw dropped. The changes were sudden and extraordinary. First, Emily's father shrunk about a foot, while his balding brown hair on his head sprouted in a few moments, cascading down his shoulders.
His clothes began to morph as two massive orbs erupted from his chest. His face smoothed as he seemed to move backwards in time. His business suit finally became a pink dress as his legs grew skinny and cleanly shaven. His hair became styled, makeup appeared on his face, and it was clear that "she" was no older than 20.
Dylan, meanwhile, had a wildly different change. Hair erupted from his head as well, but it began to part and change in texture. His body became more of a tube shape as his clothes and skin turned green. His shoes widened and fused together as it became a pot filled with dirt. Finally, Dylan's face vanished and all that stood where he had been was a potted ficus.
The girl that had been her father looked up from noticing the flash. She smiled while waving at a still stunned Emily.
"Hey sis!" She yelled walking up to her. "You taking pictures of me now?" She cheekily asked as she picked up the photo that had dropped. "Oooo not bad." She laughed, showing Emily a photo that now showed a texting 20 year old girl sitting next to a plant.
"Shit!" Emily internally screamed. "This is not what I was thinking.... oh God, does this thing only randomly change things?" She thought.
Emily looked back up, almost in tears. "Dad?" She whispered.
"What about Daddy?" She asked. "He'll be back soon Em, he's just working in Arizona right now."
"Wh-where are you going?" Emily asked, noticing 'Paula' was grabbing 'her' purse.
"Are you okay sis?" She laughed. "I got a date tonight!" She walked over to Emily, and quickly whispered an added bonus which really shook Emily to the core. "And between you and me, I think George is finally gonna... make his move." She said winking.
Emily was horrified that her father was standing there in a dress, talking about having sex with some guy. She turned her head and saw the plant that was her brother sitting there motionless. Her heart dropped as she realized how much she just screwed up. Paula turned and began to open the door and Emily panicked. She held up the camera, and then...
