After a few minutes, the pain passed and Arianna's vision stopped spinning. Blinking to clear the remaining spots from her eyes, the confused princess removed her hands from her head, only to freeze in shock as she saw them.
More specifically, Arianna was shocked to see that the skin on her hands and arms had changed from her carefully maintained healthy tan to a golden hue. Looking down at herself confirmed that the rest of her body had likewise changed skin tone to match, and in the process caused her hair to fall past her shoulders, revealing that it too had now changed color from her normal blonde to a bright white, with purple streaks in it.
Moving numbly as her mind struggled to process all this, but starting to piece together what had happened, Arianna slowly reached up to her head again to confirm her theory. She found proof of it as she touched her ears, and found from the feel of them that they were now pointed. Combined with the new skin and hair colors, this made it obvious what had happened to her, and she was terrified by it.
"I'm an elf? How, what magic is this?!" she screamed, quickly growing hysterical, "Shit! What do I do now?!"
Arianna's reaction was understandable, not just for the shock of having her species changed, but for the wider problems it represented. Not only would no one recognize her like this even if she found help, but there was the simple fact that even she knew (not that she'd cared before right this moment) that elves were a repressed minority in Magica. While they were no longer enslaved like in centuries past, they were still viewed by most as barely above animals, treated with suspicion and disdain everywhere they went. Even if she could find her way back to civilization, she wouldn't be treated like the princess she was, she'd be treated worse than a peasant!
