Moon Lake, Tad: Updates on the Move

added by The Werewolf Prince 4 years ago O

Tad and Connor continued talking for a while. They talked about various subjects: what school was like in Moon Lake, the people Tad had met, different kinds of Weres, and even a bit about Amy, Tad’s girlfriend. Eventually, Tad noticed the time.

“Damn, it’s 5:30 already?” he said, staring at his phone for a second before turning the screen off and sliding the device back into his pocket. “Sorry Connor, I’ve gotta get going.”

“No worries man,” Connor responded with a smile. “I’ll see you tomorrow at school, right?”

“Of course you will,” Tad said. “I’ll introduce you to Amy as well.”

“From what you said, she sounds like someone I can get along with easily.”

“Don’t go and take her from me, you hear?” Tad joked.

“I won’t! I won’t!” Connor laughed.

“Alright. See you tomorrow morning!”

“See ya Tad!”

Tad left Connor’s room and walked downstairs. He said goodbye to Kent and Diana before leaving the Ross residence and making his way home. As he walked home, he couldn’t help but think to himself about Connor and the way he was behaving. Every now and then, he seemed...different...than the Connor he’d known back in Quantico. When they talked about girls, Connor suddenly seemed distant and unsure, despite the countless reassurances that he was fine.

Tad brushes those thoughts aside as he arrived at his home. As he opened the door, he could hear the sound of his mom and Claire’s voices in the kitchen.

“Hey mom, I’m home,” Tad called.

Jen came out of the kitchen and gave her son a hug. “Hi honey. Did you have fun?”

“Yeah, it was nice talking to Connor face to face after such a long time.”

“That’s great to hear. How about you come into the kitchen and sit down with Claire and I so you can tell us how it went?”

“Sure,” Tad said, following his mother into the kitchen. Claire was sitting at the table with a glass of water in front of her. She smiled politely at Tad as he walked in with Jen.

“Your mom told me about what you were doing today,” Claire said as Tad took a seat. “How did things go with telling them about Weres?”

“Really well actually,” Tad said as Jen took her seat next to Claire. The whole family was really accepting of it. Mr. and Mrs. Ross of course has a few concerns, but Mrs. Twist quickly eased them and explained all the ins and outs of Moon Lake to them.”

“And I take it that you did the same with Connor?” Jen asked.

“I did,” Tad confirmed. “I told him about Moon Lake, the Weres here, and other things like that. He seems really eager to become a Were, but he’s not sure what species he wants to be.”

“Too bad he’s not a female,” Claire said. “He would LOVE being a Werecat. I know I do.” She proceeded to give Jen a little peck on the cheek.

“If he wanted to, he could become a Werewildcat,” Jen said. “They’re like Werecats, but they’re based off of...well...wildcats.”

“Mrs. Twist gave the family one of the books with all the possible Were species that they could become. I think I heard Ava say something to her parents about wanting to become a Werecat, but I might have misheard.”

“I’m sure that both Connor and Ava will put a lot of thought into what kind of Were they want to become,” Jen said.

“That’s what I think too,” Tad said with a nod. “But once they figure out what kind of Weres they want to be, I think they’ll love living here.”
