Arianna and Arran's argument trailed off as they entered a clearing and found themselves in a grove of fruit trees. The fruit growing on them were strange, being apple-shaped but purple in color. However, as far as Arianna was concerned, what they looked like didn't matter - she was naked, filthy, exhausted, and stuck in the company of a peasant who refused to acknowledge her superiority to him, but at least now she wouldn't be hungry anymore.
"Are you seriously going to eat that?" Arran asked, incredulously, as he watched Arianna walk towards one of the trees, "Do you even know what it is?"
"I don't care. I'm hungry, and it's food," Arianna snapped, as she snagged one of the fruit off its branch.
"But there's no such thing as purple apples! They could be toxic, or some weird science experiment or something."
"I still don't understand half the nonsense you're spewing, peasant, and I don't care about that either," Arianna said, before almost defiantly taking a bite, practically moaning in ecstasy at the extremely sweet taste filling her mouth.
Arran quietly watched her eat for a moment, half-expecting something to suddenly happen to her, before his own stomach rumbled to remind him of how hungry he was too. Frowning, he turned so that he wouldn't have to see her smug look as he marched over to another tree and grabbed a piece of fruit for himself, beginning to eat it just as rapidly as Arianna was eating hers.
The pair finished eating at roughly the same time, and both turned to grab another fruit, only to suddenly freeze as a strange feeling welled up in their stomachs. This strange sensation was caused by the magic of the fruit they'd just ingested, which was now going into effect as it fully entered their systems.
