"Or, while you wait for her, you could come and see some of our other horses," the attendant offered. "We have some foals if you'd like to come and meet them."
"Uh, yeah, sure," you said, a bit surprised by that. But it wasn't like you had much else to do while you waited for your girlfriend. You were lead to the rear of the Stables where a door was that went outside. You smiled a little when you saw the foals, a filly and a colt, running around together.
"They're cute, you commented as you leaned on the fence. "How old are they?"
"A few months, they're doing very well," the attendant answered. "They've only been here for a few weeks as their mother was brought here from one of our farms we affiliate with and we agreed to take them in. We could use a few more foals around here, most of the mares will be going into heat soon and a few are already pregnant."
"Well, I'm sure you'll get them eventually," you said with a shrug.
"Mostly our problem has been keeping stallions with good breeding," the attendant said as she leaned in and whispered in your ear. "What do you think, perhaps you can help us out. That wouldn't be so bad, would it? Working here."
You felt an itch on your arms for a moment as you looked out at the foals. They had stopped by now and were both watching you curiously, you felt an urge to run, not away, but with them. You could only imagine how amazing it must feel to be a horse, and could almost feel them inviting you to join them.
"Go on, join them, they want a new friend," the attendant whispered and before you knew what was happening, you were starting to climb on the fence.
