Ty barely got a wink of sleep that night. He was having too much euphoric pleasure from imagining what he could do. He had just barely scraped the surface for what he could do tomorrow. Maybe he could make the world a better place. Maybe he could fix all the problems in the world. Perhaps he would turn the world into his own toybox. He could be all powerful. He could become God! Or maybe none of that would happen, and he'd just have to dick around with his family a bit. He was so excited, and so worried, that when he finally made it to some form of sleep, his fantasies found their way into his hazy dreams.
Ty woke up, and for a moment, he believed it had all been a dream. In some extent, it had been. But after his bran finally restarted, he knew all too well that it had to have been real. He had actually done all that stuff to Dustin. He actually had these powers. And he was going to have some fun with them.
First, however, he had to get out of the house. In order to do that, he'd have to get though a morning of his foster family. He slipped into some clothes and headed downstairs.
Almost as soon as he sat down, he was ambushed by all three of them, each with smiles of varying authenticity. June pressed "Play" on her phone, and the trio began to half-assly sing:
"Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday dear Tyler,
Happy Birthday to you!"
Then Mark grabbed a very small cake with a 16 candle on it and placed it in front of Ty, proclaiming, "Make a wish, Ty."
Ty bent down to the cake's level, looked the three of them in the eyes as best he could, and sarcastically said, "I wish you remembered my birthday was yesterday," proceeding to blow out the candle.
Instead of being appalled at the sarcastic backtalk, the trio simply applauded. June stated, "I'm still so sorry we couldn't do this yesterday. We were just so busy at work... We promise it won't happen again.
Ty was taken aback by this. The addition sounded genuine, and her expression looked genuine, but it couldn't have been. Neither Mark nor June had work on Saturday, and neither of them brought any work home with them. They had to be lying. Unless...
"Oh, the wish!" Ty thought to himself. "They must think that they remembered, but had to push it back to today." He was kind of upset he couldn't guilt trip them, but he was also glad to know the wish worked on minds and memories.
"Well, thank you for this, guys, but I have to go soon." Ty said, picking the candle out of the cake.
"Oh, well you need breakfast first, Ty." June said, cutting the cake into four relatively equal slices. "We'll just get Dustin to do the dishes."
Dustin was not happy to hear this news. Ty was, though.
-One Uncharacteristically Calm Breakfast Scene Later...-
Ty was out of the house, on his was to find a good place to test out his powers. He could go to the park. There were always people there, no matter the time or day. Or he could go to the cafe. Nobody would be able to see him do things there. Or maybe yet, he could just have some experiments with his Foster Family. That might have been the simple solution. The question now was, which should he pick?
