"Rick, I really don't know about this..."
"Emily, relax." Rick interrupted. "We're just having some fun."
"But that fun is changing people's lives! That couple just swapped genders, and now they've already left the mall." Emily objected.
"Sure, but it's not like they'll ever know. Besides, they way you described it they sounded happier right?" Rick reasoned.
"I guess so... but I'm still not okay with it. Give it here I'll put it in my purse for now." Emily said reaching for the camera.
"Hold on! It's my turn!" Rick said holding the camera back.
"Rick. It. Is not. A toy." Emily announced, starting to get angry.
Rick saw the look in Emily's eye that she only gets once in a blue moon when she really gets mad. Rick did not want to deal with that at all. He thought briefly about changing Emily but that would only make her more furious, so he quickly came up with an even better plan. Before Emily could do anything he slid a part of the camera and suddenly Emily's arm pulled back and her expression calmed.
"Huh, that's weird." Emily said calmly.
"Um, what's weird baby?" Rick asked nervous.
"I can't remember what we were just doing. Like, my mind got all fuzzy for a second."
"We uh, we were here for... my photography project remember?" Rick lied.
"Oh... oh yeah! Duh now I remember!" Emily laughed. "Wow that was a bad brain fart right?"
"Yeah, uh, right." Rick said, feeling a little bad that her awareness was turned off, but highly relieved to not be screamed at.
"That's what I was doing!" She said as she suddenly swiped the camera.
"Uh, baby." Rick said beginning to panic. "What uh, what are you doing?"
"Well I remembered what we were talking about. So far your pictures have one fatal problem, there's not enough you in them! So I said that I'd take some of you but you're always so against it yada yada so I thought I'll just do it anyway!" She said laughing.
Rick knew Emily was trying to be a sweet girlfriend, but Rick knew he had just shot himself in the foot. He tried to reach out and stop her but the camera flashed before he could do anything. Now Rick and reality itself were about to change with only Rick aware. The question is, how does Rick change?
