Ann sighed, Samantha’s wedding had finally arrived and while everyone was helping the pregnant bride to be get ready the goth teen felt like a fifth wheel. Gloria, Katie and the others seemed to be running around while Ann simply sat there. There wasn’t much for Ann to do besides push baby Morgan down the aisle. Although she wanted to help it seemed like she wasn’t really needed.
As the ceremony began Ann could feel her cheeks burn with embarrassment as she pushed the infant flower girl down the makeshift aisle in Samantha’s backyard. Ann could feel everyone’s attention on her as they happily gazed at the two infants. While Gloria seemed to welcome the attention, Ann did not. The teens only consolation now was Jackie. Jackie now sat with Lisa and Jason, giving her girlfriend an encouraging smile as she made her way down the aisle.
The ceremony itself bored Ann to no end. Samantha and Mike had written their own vows, which everyone seems to appreciate. As the ceremony concluded and the couple were declared Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler the crowd broke into thunderous applause. Now the fun began as couples made their way towards the dance floor that had been built in Samantha’s backyard. While Ann had originally been excited about this her spirits quickly dampened.
Gloria and Nate seems to occupy all of Jackie’s time. The teenage couple danced and talked with Ann’s girlfriend before singing with Mika and Claudia. Ann felt too embarrassed to approach and quickly made her way towards the back of the yard where a refreshment table was setup. As she now grabbed yet another soda she sighed as she watched all the happy couples mingle.
“Hi there miss.”
Ann turned, tasing an eyebrow as two girls no older than 9 now stood next to her. “Hey,” Ann replied quietly. “Don’t remember seeing you two earlier.”
“We’re Mikes cousins,” the sandy haired girl replied quickly. “I’m Lili and this is my cousin Cece.”
Ann waved politely at the two small girls. She originally found it odd that she didn’t remember either one of these two girls from earlier. As she gazed at them she was struck by the fact that neither looked anything like Mike, Lili was a sandy haired girl with pale skin while Cece had long dark hair and an olive complexion. Something seems familiar about the two of them, Ann just couldn’t put her finger on it.
“So what’s your name,” Cece asked, a wide smile on her innocent face.
“I’m Ann,” she replied. “Katie’s sister.”
Both little girls nodded as they gazed out at the dance floor. “Oh yeah Mikes friend,” Lili said, somewhat awe struck. Quickly she leaned towards her friend as if to whisper. “Cece want to hear a secret,” she said. “I hear she has magic.”
“Really,” Cece said with some excitement before quickly giving Ann a look of concern.. Lili nodded, she now tried to lower her voice again. Ann could see though that both girls were not very good at being inconspicuous. “Yeah, “ Lili replied. “I heard Mike talking about it earlier. Can you imagine what that would be like? If we had magic we could do anything we like. We could be the coolest people ever.”
“Maybe even get a boyfriend,” Cece teased. Lili blushed, giving her friend a playful shove.
“Your silly,” Lili chuckled. “I don’t want a boyfriend but I could definitely get rid of all the mean people that make me feel bad.”
“That would be the greatest,” Cece sighed, “Can you imagine that? I know I would be super happy if the mean people were gone. Too bad we don’t have magic.”
Ann watched as the two girls nodded before breaking out in a conversation about something else. While their wishes were not exactly targeted at her, she felt as if she had seen the light. She did have magic, she could do whatever she wished. Ann looked back at the girls, giving them a smirk before walking confidently towards the dance floor. She would finally take control of her life. No longer would she live in Katie and Gloria’s shadow.
As Ann now left the area, Lili and Cece watched intently. “Do you think it worked,” Cece asked. Lili rubbed her chin thoughtfully as she watched Ann. “I think so,” she said. “That girl is already full of darkness and despair. By simply talking about what she could do we may have pushed her towards the darkness. Hopefully she will use her magic in a dark manner.”
“An how will Jack take it,” Cece asked. “We’re talking about messing with his daughter. Your son will not take to kindly to the idea of his mom and his aunt trying to push his daughter towards a life of darkness.”
“Well that’s why we used the hourglass to age ourselves down Circe,” Lilith stated. “Right now we both look like two innocent children at a wedding. No one will suspect what are true motives are. Besides, considering he didn’t even know of this timeline til recently I think we’ll be in the clear.”
“Perhaps Lilith,” Circe said quietly. “Let’s hope your plan works out.”
“Our plan Circe,” Lilith smiled. “Remember were a team. Now what do you say? You want to grab some cake and dance. I haven’t felt this energetic in a millennium.”
Circe smiled as she placed a hand on her diminutive friends shoulder. “You always did have the best plans,” she smiled. Giggling like school children the two demon witches now sprinted towards the wedding cake. Hopefully there words push the sullen goth teen towards the darkness, for now though their was cake to be eaten before either two would return to their own timeline.
