Melissa, satisfied with her answers from Virginia, went back up to her bedroom. She had plans with the razor later this afternoon, but first, she wanted to check a few things out on her computer.
She pulled up her e-mail, and the first thing she saw was an e-mail from one of her friends back in Michigan.
"Hey Mel," the e-mail started. "I know it's been ages since you moved away, but I thought it'd be good to talk and get you updated with things here. We miss you back in Michigan. I know you and your dad had such a hard time with your mom dying and all, and I can understand the need for a change of pace. We still miss you, though, and truth be told, you being the "good girl" of the group has, well, made things worse in a way.
Oh, and my big brother, Rob, he got accepted to Moon Lake College!"
An eyebrow raised up when Melissa read that. 'What were the odds?' she thought to herself.
"Yeah, he would have started in the fall, but work things and saving money. You know how it goes, lol. So, my parents decided to buy a home up there to help support him and stuff. Dad even bought a store up there and he's gonna run some sporting goods store or something. I dunno, but he's got some crazy ideas or something. I think the city life in Michigan getting to him, lol."
'Wait, what?' Mel thought to herself, 'There's no way. It's all gotta be a coincidence.'
'Anyway, since I know you moved up somewhere in Washington, we should hook up and catch up and stuff. My dad said he already bought the house already and we'll be moving there in a month or so, as he's gotta sell the house, move us kids, get everything packed, and all. God, he's so stressed, lol. Anyway, in a few weeks, we'll start going to a place in the middle of nowhere called "Moon Lake". I can't even find that place on a map, and I bet there isn't a mall or anything like that. Dad said it's near a big park, so his business would be perfect there. All I know it's going to be dullsville, lol.
Anyway, if you're near that part of Washington, let me know. We've got sooooo much to catch up on.
Love,
Rach"
When Melissa read that, her eyes widened. Her friend was coming here, and her friend had no idea what she and her family was getting into. She checked the date of the email one more time and saw that it was dated a few weeks ago.
"Dad!" Melissa called out as she ran out of her room back down to the computer room.
