Roy decides to walk back to ashleys room. He sits down on her pink bed spread bed. "What the heck, I might as well call somebody." He thought annoyed. He walked over to Ashley's purse and pulled out her cell phone. Roy opened the little iPhone and found her contact list. "Wow! This girl knows a lot of people" thought Roy. "Way more popular than I was at this age."
He decided to call Megan because she had a car and her parents were out if town in the Bahamas. Then Roy started to chuckle. "How in the world did I know that?" Thought Roy. Regardless, he pressed Megan's number. After two rings Roy head."Hey girl what's up?"
Roy answered."Hey... Girl. I was calling because I bored af. What are you up to?"
"Oh, nuthin'" came the voice of Megan, one of Ashley's best friends. "You wanna go hang out at the mall 'n stuff?"
Part of Roy wanted to say no. He was a twenty-three year old man, not a teenage girl. But part of Roy had a sudden urge to follow Stacy's suggestion and actually live out the role of a typical teenage girl.
'Kewl!" Roy found himself saying. "I'd love to spend the day at the mall. I'm just dying to do some shopping!"
"Great, Ash!" said Megan. "I still gotta finish drying my hair and then put on some makeup, so... I'll pop by your house in like an hour, 'kay?"
"Buh-bye!" said Roy, hanging up.
Whew, that was odd, he thought. Roy had still been mostly himself while hanging out with Stacy, but as soon as he started interacting with Megan, it was like a big part of his personality just switched into 'Ashley' mode. Roy wondered if this was a side effect of both he and Stacy having touched the device when using it? Would Roy find himself forced into Ashley-like behavior anytime he had to talk with anyone else?
Or was something else going on? Perhaps it was just nervousness on his part. Although that wouldn't explain how he knew Megan's parents were out of town right now.
"Oh, well," sighed Roy. "I'll worry about it later."
