Roy walked down the hallway looking for someone to target. As he turned a corner – BAM – he ran into a woman in her mid-twenties. The groceries she had been carrying spilled on to the floor as she and Roy were both knocked backwards.
“I’m so sorry” she said.
“No it was my fault” Roy replied bending down to clean up the mess. Looking up, he recognized who he bumped into. The woman lived in the apartments down the hall with her seven year old son. Right now the woman was helping Roy clean up as her son watched from behind.
“This is as good am time as any to try out the device” thought Roy. He looked for a moment when he saw the mother's driver's license sticking out of her back pocket. He fired a beam at it then at the boy.
--Flash--
The mother was now a man. His features looked very much the same only more rugged. His hair was messy and short. His clothes being a pair of jeans and a grey T Shirt did not change very much only altering in size to fit the bulkier frame.
The boy who was now a girl changed a lot. Her hair was long and tidied in pig's tails with red ribbons. Her face was rounder and more pixie-ish. Her shirt changed from green to purple.
"Thanks for the help" the father said. Then he picks up the groceries and takes his daughter by the hand. He begins to walk away.
Roy was surprised by the change. Apparently when the target was information, it changes other things besides the role. He'd have to make a mental note of that.
