Chad sat there sobbing for the longest time. Finally, he struggled to his feet. He looked around the empty field house. He felt like he wanted to throw up. He managed only a couple drive heaves. He picked up his sweats, and found they were way too big for him now. Then he noticed the bag that Clyde had left for him. He dropped his sweats and jockstrap, and picked up the bag. It was filled with a cheerleading outfit. Chad screwed up his face and threw it on the field house floor. He walked over to his sweats, pulled the pants on and tied it as he tight as he could, then he rolled up the leg bottoms. His shoes were boats, and the sweat shirt looked like a dress on him. He hadn't even bothered with the jockstrap. The waistband was too big, and he'd have to stuff the pouch with his sweat socks, and they reeked. So he shoved the socks and jock into his now too big shoes, and headed for the locker room.
As we walked barefoot across the grass toward the locker room. He glanced at his watch, and frowned he had been in the field house over an hour and half. That would mean that his teammates would be hitting the showers soon, if they weren't there already. But he needed his car keys, and wallet. And coach locked the locker room doors at 6:15 PM. So he really couldn't wait. He started to run, but his pant legs slid down, and tripped him.
Chad cursed, as he stood up. He pulled his pants legs up and resumed his steady march toward the locker room. He was relieved that he didn't see anyone as he entered the locker room. But he could hear the showers running, and voices.
"Great that coach let us go early."
Chad headed for his locker, and turned the dial on his combo lock.
