Megan was able to refocus her vision as the glow from the mirror finished. She felt a little disoriented, and quickly realized why. She was no longer sitting in the lunchroom, but was now sitting in a kindergarten classroom. There were colorful drawings pinned to a clipboard, there were very young children running around screaming, and toys around Megan's feet.
Looking down, she also noticed her clothes had changed. She was now wearing a pink and light blue Frozen t-shirt and super sparkly kiddie jeans to match. She felt her hair was now tied up in pigtails, and despite being clearly much older than all the children around her, no-one seemed to notice her as being out of place.
"What? What happened?" She thought, holding her head. "Why am I in a kindergarten class? Did Kim do this? What did she day dream of to cause reality to change like this? What even is my life right now?" She thought.
Before she could try to answer these questions, she suddenly heard an adult woman's voice behind her that she definitely had heard before. Turning around, she saw Mrs. Yang, Kim's mother! She was talking to a woman who appeared to be some other mother judging by her more casual attire. The two women walked in different directions. The other woman picked up one of the toddlers and suddenly Megan felt a hug from someone.
"Oh, hello Miko!" Mrs. Yang squealed. "Did you have fun in class today?" She asked sweetly.
"Uh.... yeah. I uh, sure did... Mom" Megan awkwardly bluffed.
"That's great sweetie." She boasted as she gave Megan a pinch on the cheek. She then extended her hand. "Come now Miko, Mommy has some errands to do."
Megan didn't't have the full picture, but she had a pretty solid idea on what Kim had done. "Kim must have daydreamed about me being her little sister." She thought. "And now, the whole world sees me as a kindergartener! Perfect."
Megan reluctantly let Mrs. Yang hold her hand as the two walked out. Although no-one seemed to care, Megan still couldn't help but feel embarrassed walking along in such childish clothing while holding a grown adult's hand. Megan was silent as Mrs. Yang buckled her into a very large booster seat while Megan tried to come up with a game plan.
"Okay, I gotta get that mirror back. Since it usually stays with whoever last had it, that means Kim has it. Unfortunately, that also means she can make more changes! It's fine. I'm sure I can get the mirror before then... I just gotta wait hit out with Mrs. Yang and then I'll be home free. Plus, even if she does use the mirror, Mom and Dad will know 'I' went over the limit and will fix this. Or Mom and Dad will notice my stuff is gone as reality changed and will come and get me. Just gotta wait it out." She thought out.
"Who wants to go shopping?!" Mrs. Yang yelled back, causing Megan to look up to see that they had arrived at Sears. Megan put on a fake smile but groaned internally. She just had to wait and hope for the best.
