Edwin started typing: “From on when babies are born they have normal legs, but on there first birthday there legs turn into a massive metal spring from the waist down. Then back into normal legs once they hit puberty. Only I remember kids having legs, everyone else thinks kids from 1-12 have always had massive springs below the waist.” Edwin hit enter and watched his changes to reality take hold.
Edwin saw as kids chassis each other began hopping as there legs began to fuse. Edwin started to feel his own legs fuse and sat down on a bench to watch the changes take hold. His legs hardened and stretched turning grey and metallic, they started getting longer as they fused into a metal cylinder, coiling around in a circle. His pants got turned into something like a skirt to accommodate his new way of getting around. His feet became a large metal plate with four holes drilled in the corners an inch thick. The changes finished and the playground was filled with the noise of straining metal as kids hoped around without a care in the world.
Edwin slid off the bench and began to stand wobbling back and forth as he got use to his new spring. He did some experimental hops getting used to having a spring with a metal plate instead of legs. He never fell down, the metal plate kept his body upright no matter how the spring swayed. It was almost like the plate secured him to the ground unless he decided to hop.
Once satisfied he could get around on his spring Edwin went to join the other kids in there game, leaving his back pack with the Chronivac behind on the bench...
