Before Jeff could even begin to look at all the options someone began knocking on his door.
"Just a minute!" Jeff yelled while he minimized the program so as not to draw attention to himself, "all right come on in."
"Jeez Jeff what with all the secrecy, are you whacking off in here or something?" Jeff turned around to see his best friend Dean enter his room and shut the door. Dean like Jeff was an average high school boy. He had short brown hair and brown eyes to match. Like his hair and eyes the rest of his body was just as plain. He had never stood out much in high school, seeing as though he lacked the physical prowess to be a star athlete, or the massive intellect to make him valedictorian of his class. Instead Dean was relegated to being just another face in the crowd.
"Ha ha. I thought you were my nosy sister again." Jeff thought about telling Dean about the Chronivac but he wanted to know more about it before he revealed it. He tried to change the subject. "So what do you want to do today?"
Dean sat down on Jeff's bed, "I don't know. You're the one that usually comes up with ideas."
Jeff said, "I don't have any ideas today." Jeff wanted Dean to go away. Normally Jeff liked Dean's company but right now, Jeff was thinking about the Chronivac.
Dean said, "You're acting kind of awkward. You must be thinking about something."
"Uhh," Jeff paused, "No, I'm not thinking of anything."
Dean stood up suddenly, "Well, on my way over, I picked up a sliver in my hand. While you decide to tell me your little secret, I'm going to borrow your bathroom and try to get this sliver out."
Dean left the room and Jeff closed the door. Jeff quickly brought the Chronivac up and sure enough, his friend Dean's stats were there now. Jeff quickly found a way to change Dean's curiosity so that he no longer thought Jeff had a secret.
