I saw a computer towards the back. It had a glowing title on the screen: Alter Reality Software. It sounded kind of fantastic to me, even with the advance of technology.
George gave me a look. "Well? Do you think it really works, Alvin?"
"There's only one way to find out."
I opened the software with ease. It was simple: it told me to type what I wanted to change, and below that, who would be aware of the change. To see if it truly worked, the test had to be done on something near us.
Or on one of us.
Since I was in control, it defaulted to George to be the test subject. I decided to be kind to him. I read his stats: 5'8" tall, 135 pounds, black hair, a peaky face, pale skin, etc. A few details were included that I definitely could have done without.
I typed that now George was 6'4", 220 pounds of muscle, with styled black hair, a healthy appearance, and tan skin. He would be handsome like a lifeguard and athletic like a football star. I excluded only his mind and mine from the reality alteration. I clicked the mouse.
When I looked up, there stood the young stud I'd described, shocked at what had happened.
