“These potions all sound powerful, but what’ll happen if my father sends guards to find me? They’ll be no more prince after all.”
“Ah then if you want someone to take your place as prince then I recommend this potion here.”
The witch pulled out a round glass bottle with a purple swirling liquid.
“This potion allows you to switch bodies with another. Both parties simply have to take a sip. After the first sip the liquid bottle will turn clear like water and the next person that drinks from it will swap bodies with you.”
Damon thought to himself. Who did he trust most of all to take his place? An idea popped into his head.
“I’ll take it!” He slammed down a huge satchel of gold coins.
“Will this cover the cost?”
“That’ll do nicely.”
As Damon walked away from the witch’s cottage he thought of the perfect person to give the potion too.
His trusted stable master Charles. He was a tall handsome lad, twenty one, the same age as Damon. Charles had black hair and the most brilliant blue eyes. His body was strong from the years of loyal labor.
Damon was prepared to go through whatever transformation necessary to get a new life but this new opportunity gave him the chance to get into another body as handsome as his own.
Damon himself had auburn hair and lightly muscled physique. He wasn’t the mountain of a man like Charles but he did have quite the nice body with hair coating his manly chest.
Damon actually possessed a sort of a crush on Charles. The thought of trading bodies, such an intimate experience...
“No what am I thinking. This is only for freedom, not a way to live out of a kinky little fantasy of mine.”
—Meanwhile at the castle—
“1.. 2.. 3.. *thiwp*. An arrow missed an x scribbled on a tree completely.
“Oliver! What are you doing?”
The boy quickly turned around and attempted to hide the bow behind his back.
Oliver just turned thirteen and had curly brown hair that his older brother had often tried to tame but to no avail. His face was coated in freckles. He was overall a “cute” young lad despite his slightly buck teeth.
“Um nothing Charles...”
“How many times do I need to tell you, no playing! You’re a stableboy and you need to be at your post!”
“Please Charles, I promise I’ll finish my chores my the end of the afternoon.”
“Honestly, how could any brother of mine possibly not feel privileged to serve the royal family is beyond me.”
“You have the finest horses in all the land to look after and here you are wasting your time playing games.”
Charles kept lecturing Oliver until they returned to the stables.
“Where’s the prince’s horse?” Charles asked.
“He took it this morning. Hasn’t returned since.” Oliver replied.
Charles concern was short lived as the Prince rode back to the stables.
“My lord.” Charles sputtered as he bowed.
Charles quickly grabbed his brother’s head and forced it to bow as well.
“Come now, I always tell you there’s no need for that Charles. We practically grew up together. You’re also a few months older than me.”
“What seems to be the trouble my lord, you weren’t scheduled to ride horseback today?”
“Yes about that.. there’s something I need to ask of you”
The trio walked to the stable master quarters. “Oliver, you can go mess around with your archery while I talk with the prince.”
“Really?!” The lad grabbed his bow and hugged Damon.
“OLIVER! That’s no way to behave around the prince!” Charles yelled.
“Oof, it’s quite alright haha. You’re excitable aren’t you?” Damon laughed as he ruffled Oliver’s messy hair.
“Thank you Prince!” Oliver said not looking back as he slammed the door.
“I apologize for his behavior.”
“That doesn’t matter now. Charles, I went to see the old witch of the forest.”
“You what?!”
“Calm down. I’ve been thinking about leaving this place for some time now and was willing to take one of her enchantments to transform me and let me escape this life.”
“But my lord, the kingdom needs a prince.”
“I know, that is why I have this.” Damon pulled out the rounded flask with purple liquid.
“This potion will allow me to trade bodies with whomever drinks it with me. Will you become the prince the kingdom deserves?”
Charles didn’t know what to think. He had always been rather happy with his role in life. Respected by townsfolk, working hard, only needing to focus on his chores and brother, but none of that was as dear to him as his loyalty the prince and royal family.
“I’m... not sure about this my pr- Damon.”
The two began to hear horses approaching. “Seems the guards were looking for me. I had planned to be far away from the castle by now.”
Damon took out the bottle and took a quick gulp.
“Damon! You don’t know what that’ll do to you.”
“It’s harmless. I’ll leave the bottle with you for when you’re ready. Please, if it helps you can see it a sort of last order from me as a prince.”
Damon explained to the guards that he went hunting and lost track of time. The guards then escorted him back to his chambers.
Charles looked at the cloudy liquid as it slowly began to clear. The potion was now in an active state. He had a decision to make...
