You can't help by smile and giggle at the redhead in the mirror. The thoughts of a young Girl-Scout-To-Be quickly becoming louder as you look at how cute you look as a girl scout.
"Just like I always wanted to be! I'm going to make so many friends and... and" snapping out of it you shake your head. Your thoughts are mostly back to your own, somewhat at least, but yet you still can't resist keeping that grin on your face, the smile of an excited young girl about to begin a wonderous part of her life. The overwhelming desire to be a Girl Scout courses through your mind, overriding any thought of turning back.
You give yourself another big excited smile in the mirror as you gaze at how cute you look with your dress. You're too busy getting excited over becoming a Girl Scout that you almost don't notice you look slightly different. But once you do notice you are quickly pulled out from the daze of excitement as you squint your eyes as your... the little girl's reflection.
She seems slightly taller. In fact now that you look at it closely she seems to be growing. A painful ache in your stomach suddenly causes to lean down and cuddle it as it sends shivers through your bodies. Through the discomfort you manage to glance up briefly to see the pigtails burst as the red hair reshapes itself to around shoulder length. Looking around slightly you notice that the room seems not as large as it was moments ago.
Your own thoughts, the thoughts of a little girl and the pain of whatever is happening all prove to me too much as you collapse onto your arms. As you try to catch your breath and endure the pain you witness your dress shifting and growing small. Soon it breaks in the middle and turns into a khaki vest and khaki shorts. Underneath the vest you see a quickly forming white shirt.
The pain gradually resides into a tingling sensation as you begin to get up, as you exert you body to push yourself up you see it stretch and seemingly grow longer. You get up and absentmindedly stretch your arms and legs once more, causing them seemingly finish expanding. You can also briefly make up the sensation of a training bra forming beneath your shirt.
Opening your eyes you see a familiar yet new girl in the mirror. See appears to be older, '12' suddenly popping into your mind for some reason. She wears a khaki vest and shorts as well as a white shirt underneath. She has dark shoulder length red hair which as been neatly managed.
She is also smiling, but unlike the excited looking smile you saw before, this older girl is smiling more proudly and gives off an air of confidence with slight excitement thrown into the mix. Mary Janes are still present, having just grown to fit their new feet. You gaze back to the vest to see rows of badges and how attachments signifying her role in the Girl Scouts, causing the confidence and pride to begin overwhelming the previous feelings of pain of shock.
"Oh I remember when I got that one" you say, smiling at one of the badges "First one I got as a Caddete.." you voice conveying a tone of pride and nostalgia at that achievement.
It's getting hard to focus. Keeping the thoughts of an excited 5 year old were hard enough but a self assured 12 year old's mind is much more potent. Suddenly you notice some sort of small light brown purse is hanging around your shoulder. It has stickers on it, some more generic others seemingly from the Girl Scouts.
You open it up without thinking and take out a Student I.D
'Kayla Clarkson'
You blink at your name. Confused at why you were initially so confused at it. You vaguely remember having a stomach ache but that can't be right, you eat healthy as any good girl scout should. Memories of joining the Girl Scouts at age 5 seem distant despite happening moments ago, and between then and now glimpses of memories of a girl growing up as a Girl Scout are slowly making their way in the gaps.
"My name am Kayla Clarkson, and I vow to be the best most helpful Girl Scout I can be and help all members of the community!" you proclaim with you hand held over your heart. You shake your head and grab it with both your hands, it's becoming hard to distinguish between your thoughts.
Glancing back at the mirror you can't resist letting go of your head and return to smiling.
"These fit perfectly. Better get back to the girls before they earn more badges without me!" you exclaim with a somewhat arrogant yet also playful grin smashed on your face. You place your I.D back in your purse and begin walking away from the mirror and back outside. Smiling to yourself as you walk, but inside you are panicked and what has happened as your body moves to the near overwhelming thoughts of this girl.
