The formerly fat dumbass assured himself that once he was out of this predicament he'd enact his revenge. The mayor's son was missing! Surely the police sirens would soon be blaring through the streets scouring his last known whereabouts. At least that's what the bag of air had convinced himself of at first. As the day went on and the sun to sink he started, hope that anyone would come for him began looking grim. That was until around the corner strolled a stout gentleman with a short scraggly grey beard. He was wearing a set of janitor's overalls with a patch small reading "CHARLIE" embroidered on the chest. After a few moments Airhead recognized him as the always smiling, janitor from the Mayor's office. Everyone at his father's workplace was friendly with cheerful Charlie which is why every now and then, the obese asshole had taken it upon himself to remind the cleaner of his place by dropping soda cans on the floor in front of him or "accidentally" missing the urinals and leaving a small puddle to be mopped just as Charlie finished cleaning the bathroom. Earlier today he opened and hid a few valves from the radiators since he heard the janitor talk about going home early. Airhead started flailing about trying to get the man's attention.
Charlie the custodian was on his way home after a long shift. An issue with the building's heating meant that in addition to being tired he was particularly sweaty this evening. As he strolled through the park something peculiar caught his eye. A shiny red balloon was tied to the park fence, bobbing around as though calling to him. As Charlie approached the wind seemed to make the balloons movements more wild and erratic almost as though it was happy to see him. Just as he began to wonder why there was a balloon there he noticed a sign detailing the hiring price.
"Looks like my lucky day." chirped the old man's gruff voice, as he fished out a few dollars from his wallet to tuck under the sign. He hummed a cheerful tune and undid the string tying the balloon to the fence. "I think I'll call you Red."
Meanwhile the voiceless balloon tried demand the janitor take him to his father but of course none of it could be heard and he could do nothing but be pulled along by his rubber nublet as Charlie strolled home with a renewed spring in his step.
