Rebecca was just on her way to school, thinking about how it was unfair her sisters had gone on to experience far happier lives when they were outright miserable people to be around. Carla was an unashamed and manipulative gold digger, any sympathy Rebecca had for her was lost when she divorced her cancer stricken former boyfriend to go run off with the well built surfer son of a millionaire. And everyone who knew Carla knew how this one was going to end. Beth was just sardonic and snide for little conceivable reason - she'd been a voice of concerted betrayal and talking down throughout childhood, through the teen years, to adulthood.
It was this kind of family that informed Rebecca's desire to get out of this mundane, every day life...and contributed to her wistful distraction as she walked to class, not seeing the beam oncoming. She stopped when she felt it hit her, and it felt like every cell in her body lit up with some indescribable sensation, only to suddenly quiet down.
She panted and pressed herself against one of the school walls, breathing harsh and short breaths, trying to reclaim her stance and fortitude.
"Hey, Ms. Clarkson!" She winced further when she heard that, seeing the sun kissed form of the school's star QB Alex walking to class. "You just taking a moment to think of how good it'd feel under me or something?"
"Get to class, Alex." She hastily said to him, not in the mood to deal with that young man's demeanor. Everyone knew Alex at that school. For better or for worse. He'd dumped half the female student body, most often not even in person, merely over a text. Few of the people here riled her quite like the entitled and bratty Alex. Sometimes she wished he'd just grow up and stop being such a piggish bastard.
She was dragged back to reality by a sound on Alex's path. She slowly followed, not wanting him to know she was following (she'd never hear the end of it if he found out), and she saw that he was struggling with his clothes. It looked like all of a sudden his prodigious musculature, which he was oh so proud of, had suddenly grown a bit bigger. His chin pronounced a bit more, hair slightly more grown out from its usual buzz cut. Was he...slightly taller, too?
Then she realized it. Looking at him. Looking at how he'd changed. Had she somehow done that? Had she...aged Alex?
Her eyes widened thinking about this. Was this what she was getting when she asked for something to liberate her from the every day doldrums? The power...to age? She couldn't even fathom what sort of superhero name someone with such a power might use. Or even if that was in the cards. Who knew what else was going to happen.
She decided to try something more. Taking aim at another student, a young woman, she was surprised when she watched the young woman develop slightly more in the course of puberty. That, she decided, settled it. She could now age people. And that...that had a number of possibilities. Some quite arousing in all senses of the word.
For once, she had power. And she intended to see it through to the end, to whatever she could use this for. As she finally got to her class, she took her seat and did attendance with a smile. A devious smile. Who, she thought, can I age using my new power?
