"Push me higher daddy!" the kid in the swing demanded.
All he could do was smile at his child, happy to oblige the request.
Life was good. A secured job, a healthy family, a wonderful wife...
With that last thought, he looked across the backyard to see the woman he loved and the mother of his children sitting on the edge of the back porch, nursing their newborn.
As if sensing his gaze, she looked up and a smile crossed the muzzle of her French Poodle fursona.
Henry "Huck" Jenkins Junior felt his own Pomeranian weredog muzzle return the gesture, even as one consistent thought crossed his mind once more.
I was a fool to wait so long...
Huck awoke to two sensations.
The room was totally dark, and his new wife was missing from the pull out sofa bed in the living room of their borrowed Moon Lake cabin.
The candles must have burned out, figured Huck, even as weredog senses adjusted to the lack of light.
How long did we nap? he wondered. I've heard about new inductees to were society being insatiable their first time, but Betty's hungrier than a termite at a lumberyard! Man, did she wear me out. This is going to be some honeymoon by the time it's over.
There was a hint of light coming from the somewhat closed bathroom door.
With that, Huck got up and padded over to the door.
A quick peek revealed what he suspected to find.
Betty was turning this way and that in front of the bathroom mirror, checking out her new fursona.
She's waited so long to be with me... Huck realized yet again, as he slowly opened the door.
Seeing his reflection in the mirror, Betty just smiled and said, "So handsome. What do you think?"
Her breast size had easily doubled as a new were. All the other charms of her female body had been duly enhanced as well.
Huck couldn't help but to stare at Betty's shapely hips. The way her tail wagged happily, even though she was standing relatively still. The way her new canine ears perked up from her sides as she spotted him.
"Words escape me," admitted Huck, as he wrapped his furry arms around her. "I always thought you were beautiful to begin with. All becoming a were did was prove I was right all along."
"Flattery will get you everywhere Mister Jenkins," said Betty, leaning her head against his furry chest.
"The only place I want to be is wherever you are," he replied, before they kissed.
When their muzzles parted, Betty turned to look back at the mirror and said, "Don't they make a cute couple?"
"Yes, we do. Why I was so blind not to see it before now..."
"Hey. Don't beat yourself up," Betty said, turning to face her husband again. "Taking over Jenkins Construction from your father was a big responsibility. Not to take anything away from your dad, but you've done wonders with the business."
"With your help," Huck was quick to add, leaning against her. "For years I was so wrapped up in it and other things, I never truly saw what was right in front of me. But I promise I'm gonna spend the rest of my life making it up to you Mrs. Jenkins."
"Just keep calling me Mrs. Jenkins and I'll be happy," said Betty, smiling at him.
"No. I'm serious Betty," swore Huck, looking intently at her. "It took being shot to discover how I really felt about you, let alone realize how you felt about me. So I've been thinking..."
"Oh?" said Betty, raising one eyebrow inquisitively at him.
"Yes. Even though I'm as healthy as can be now, it may still take us a while to fully get the business back up and running again to where it was before that idiot who thought I was Harry tried to kill me for that jerk Dieter Wilhelm."
"Don't remind me about that part, ever again," Betty requested, holding him tightly in her arms.
"Anyway, I also don't know how long it will take us to find a house that we both like and can afford too," continued Huck. "But once we have both secured, if you're willing, I want to forget that nonsense we originally planned about waiting a year to start a family."
"You mean?" said Betty, as her eyes lit up.
"I mean," he said, pulling her closer until the tips of their noses touched, "that as long as you can do so safely without endangering either your health or that of our children, I want to start a family with you."
"OH HUCK!" she cried, before showering him with kisses.
Huck's heart swelled as Betty continued kissing him.
His own tail started wagging happily as, among Betty's kisses and "I love you"s, he heard a child's voice say Yay Daddy! You're the greatest!
