Dan hit the floor running, but as soon as he did, Kat walked back into the room, carrying a large glass jar in one hand, and a metal lid in the other. He was so small that an all-out run for him was a walking pace for Kat. She simply walked over and set the jar over him. He looked up in horror at his giant sister, standing over the jar, her shape distorted by the slight contour in the bottom of the jar as she smiled down on him. "I thought I might need something a little more secure," he heard her say, her voice dampened by the thickness of the old glass. He watched, as she sat down on the floor in front of the jar, folded her legs and made herself comfortable. She quietly set the lid down on the floor. Then, in one smooth motion, Kat lifted and flipped the jar with her left hand, grabbed the little rat with her right, and dropped him in. Plop, he landed awkwardly on the bottom of the jar, but was uninjured due to his light weight. While the jar was still in her left hand, she grabbed the lid and screwed it on tight. He saw her muscles tense above him as she torqued the lid to insure it would not loosen. Kat stood up, carrying the jar containing her little rat of a brother and walked out the door and over to the garage. She went in, set the jar on her Dad's old workbench, and walked away. Dan watched her go get a small hammer and a single nail. She returned, and proceeded to poke a few air holes in the metal lid. From inside the jar, the sound was deafening, making Dan's ears ring painfully. Kat calmly put the hammer away, picked the jar up once again and went back in the house. She walked into her room, got down on her knees and slid the jar well under her bed, as if to hide it. She stood up, and from under her bed and through the curved glass of the jar, Dan watched her giant feet walk out of the room. The light went out, the door closed, and Dan was left in the dark.
