Suddenly it clicked. The things around the female gnome didn't look too big, they looked the right size. And she didn't feel small, she felt the right size. And although she could clearly remember being a male human a few minutes ago, the importance of that fact was fading. A female gnome was who she was now. Small, quick and intelligent, able to prosper and thrive in the interstices of the world made by the big people. And being female felt right too. A body capable of bringing new gnomes into the world. There couldn't be anything she was better suited to be than a female gnome.
I need a name, she thought. "James" just isn't gnomish. Jamiza? She rolled it around in her mouth. It felt right. "I am Jamiza, Jamiza the gnome girl" she said out loud, her tiny voice sounding just right to her.
