Rachael and Brian, they had been married for nearly 17 years. They had two children. A boy and a girl.
Thomas was their first born, he was 12. He had just begun puberty.
Their daughter was Alice, she was 7.
Brian had been roaming around the local mall whereupon he found a new store, he picked up a board game from an old man inside.
He placed it on the shelf, “kids!! After dinner we’re going to play a board game!!” Rachael was pleasantly surprised, Alice was ecstatic, Thomas was... well he was fine.
Brian made dinner, they sat together, he cleaned up the dishes and placed the game on the centre of the table.
“Alright, pick a piece,” he layed out the four figures, ironically (or possibly intentionally) the pieces were of a boy, girl, adult woman, and adult man. They all took the piece that represented them.
“Ready?” Brian Said,
“Yeah!!” Alice screamed excitedly,
“Yes honey,” Rachael Said,
“Uh-huh,” Thomas Said unenthusiastically,
Brian took a card from the pile, it said on the upside, “pick this card first”
On the other side of it there was more writing, Brian read it aloud,
“This is the game of Change, everything that happens in the game will not be undone until it is concluded. The winner will receive one wish. Cheaters will receive a punishment.
Good Luck”
Everybody seemed confused, but went along with it.
“Oldest first?” Rachael said,
“I think so,” Brian responded,
“Alright, I’ll start, then it’s your father, Thomas, and then Alice,”
She rolled the two dice, a 4 and a 3, she moved 7 spaces. Then she picked up a card.
