So Phillip decided he wanted to be a dragon kid
at which point all the other UnNaturals stormed off in a huff
leaving the dragon girl to get on with the deed.
She explained the magic would transform Phillip into a dragon egg
from which point he would be a lot of dragon goo until he
hatched a fortnight later.
She explained she was going to have to hide his egg in a extremely hot room in the orphanage,obviously the coal fired
furnace room of the ancient building.
Phillip asked her why it needed to be a extremely hot room
and the dragon fairy explained there could be side effects if his egg developed in a normal temperature for humans.
She was a fire breather after all.And so would he be in three
days time.
So the two tiptoed down to the coal furnace where the dragon girl showed him the spot where he would be transformed.
Philip loked around and noticed there seemed to be a lot of dragon egg shells off to one side
as well as a half egg that was four and a half feet long.
Which meant that the dragon egg had originally nine feet long.
Since the dragon fairy herself was only two and a half feet tall
a slight buzz awakened in Phillip that the dragon fairy wasn't telling him all there was to know about dragon egg transformations.
However since his own life in the orphanage was so miserable
as a human he decided to chance it.
And so he stood where she indicated and he asked her if
he needed to take off his clothes and the honest looking dragon fairy told him there was
no need.
So he just stood there and the dragon fairy chanted her spell and
sprinkled fairy dust on him.
In horror Phillip realized his lower legs were dissolving into a
kind of gooey liquid as a egg shell formed around him.
He toppled into his own forming egg as his body and mind dissolved.
For a day there was nothingness,then Phillipa realized
she was aware of her herself and her forming new body.
In shock she realized this must be the side effect the girl dragon
had mentioned,she was a girl dragon fairy herself now.
Not that there was much Phillipa could do to undo the change as she realized
she was still little more then a lot of dragoness liquid still
forming around her mind and ovaries.
Dimly she recalled some reptiles undergo a sex change in their
eggs under colder temperatures,and it seemed that was what had happened to
Phillipa.
Obviously mean miserly Mrs Mirth had been stingy with the coal again and in the colder furnace room Phillipa's reptilian DNA was going female on her.
The tail,wings,neck and scales started forming around her mind on the 2nd day and by the beginning of the third day Phillipa realized to her discomfort the dragon egg was getting awfully
tight around her.
Either her egg was shrinking or she was going to be bigger,much bigger then expected.
By the middle of the third day the mental shift occurred as
Phillipa realized she was a dragon,and dragons are big,want to be bigger and stretch those enlarging wings she'd first noticed the day before.
The physical and mental transformation of Phillipa continued as
her hardening egg swelled at the same time to contain her enlarging body,which itself was swelling with powerful new muscles as the side effects brought out more of the beast in Phillipa then the fairy.
She didn't actually feel anger about the curvball however,just
bigger and more dragonish,and most importantly,more dragonessish.
It was in the wee ohours of the fourth day that her instincts
told her it was time to use that thick poiny spike between her
flaring nostrils to get out of her egg.
So the dragoness chipped away at her nine foot long egg and with
a "splurrt crakkk" her egg spit in two to a shower of steam
sparks and wet dragoness saliva.
She crawled out,and since there was no dragon fairy to greet her
she slithered out into the night,a fully formed female dragon whelp......
