Colton could not recall the last time he rode a bike. After he got a car, he hadn’t looked back. He was comfortable behind the wheel, engine thrumming with horsepower. But now? He felt like a kid again. In more ways than just physically, too.
Even when he got to Liams house, the cruel realities of his predicament were made even more apparent. He recalled Liams instructions about how to find his room, and went inside the smaller house (his family was financially secure, even flush with cash, one might say.)
The room was messy, and smelled not dissimilar from his own room across town. Boyish hormones and body odor were the aroma of the day, and the overflowing laundry hamper was a particularly strong source for the scent. There were clothes scattered all over the floor, too. Furniture in the room consisted of a small desk under the window, a twin bed and a dresser. There was a small closet too.
Closing the door to the room, Colton found a full length mirror hanging on the back of said door. Figuring that it was as good a time as any, he’d give his new body a look over. He unzipped and tossed aside the hoodie, followed by the size small tshirt. His jeans were held up by a belt, and when he undid it, he noticed the waist was loose. Liam was really skinny! Bony, even, Colton would say.
Dropping the jeans, he was left in a pair of tight briefs and socks. He pulled the briefs down. Yep... he was still going through puberty. Liam was barely developed beneath the waist. And to add insult to injury: he was pale white underneath it all. He was locked inside a body that was the epitome of nerdiness.
He went to the closet to look at his clothing situation, and honestly was disappointed further by what he saw. This was where all the Sunday best was hung up. Collared shirts and sweater vests. Nothing much interesting here. The floor and hamper was probably where most of his clothing choices were likely to be. The dresser was mostly empty, so he poked around at the clothes. Liam was going for high school camouflage, Colton could tell.
Colton decided to grab the clothes and do a wash. He may be in someone else’s body, but it still felt weird to slide on their dirty clothes. The only clean clothes he could find was a two-piece pajama set. The kind that had a button shirt and matching pants. He pulled them on. He was going to play sick tonight anyways, to try and avoid Liams family as much as possible anyways. He wanted to hide out in Liams room and do some research. The very thought of research seemed foreign to him, but Colton realized he needed to try or he’d risk being stuck like this forever.
As he went to find the laundry machine, he heard a commotion from the front door of the house.
