After James Romulus left, the day seemed to fly by for everyone but Nate. Nate began to worry about what would happen if he transformed in front of all the others.
'No,' he thought, 'I'll just go to my room, lock the door, and hopefully no one will notice.'
The rest of the day was a blur. Nate ate barely anything for lunch, even though he was hungry. Aaron had asked Nate several times throughout the afternoon to play a game of cards. Nate didn't reply back.
Dinner went by as slow as lunch. As Nate headed up to his room to prepare for the transformation, Jamie asked "Hey, what are you doing? Going to bed early?"
Nate replied saying "Yeah."
As Nate entered his room, he locked the door behind him. Eager, Nate looked out of the window at the setting sun.
'Here we go,' Nate thought.
As soon as the sun set below the horizon, Nate began to feel the effects of the transformation starting.
At first, Nate couldn't see it, but his eyes were starting to blaze a luminous yellow. Then he felt his canines quickly sharpen into fangs. The next few minutes were very fuzzy to him. But if anyone was watching, they would have seen him tear
off his shirt, revealing bulging muscle and dark brown fur growing all over his body. He tried to take off the rest of his clothes but was too late. His pants tore revealing more muscle and fur. His nails transformed into long, sharp claws. His hands and feet acquired black, leathery pads, forming his paws. Then, his face shifted forward into a muzzle and his ears migrated to the top of his head. His transformation from ordinary Nate to wolfman Nate was complete. Happier than ever, he gave off a loud howl and ran off to the forest.
Meanwhile, all the others downstairs heard the howl and ran up to Nate's room.
"Nate, you in there?" asked Aaron.
No answer.
Silence consumed the hallway until Jamie
broke the silence.
"Where did he go?"
