Before James could even get any more frustrated with her roommate, a loud cry was heard from outside the open window in the dorm. Both Emma and Monica jumped at the sudden noise, and turned around to look at the window. The two lovers stood up and walked over to see what was happening. James also walked over, but then realized that she was too short to reach the window. The gnome thought quickly, and dragged over a box to stand on. Even with the added height, James just barely peered over the windowsill.
Outside on the campus field was a large silver dragon, who stumbled around on its giant legs. The creature was crying, and sobbed,
"No! I don't want to be a monster!" In a feminine voice. Now realizing that the dragon was a transformed person, James instantly felt more grateful about not getting such a drastic transformation.
"Oh, that poor person! I hope that they come to terms with who they are now!" Emma worried, frowning at the sight.
"Yeah...but this makes me think, how will the world be from now on? I mean, it seems that people are the only ones to have changed. Our clothing and everything inanimate seems to remain stuck in a modern world." Monica wondered out loud. James nodded in agreement, wondering about how her life would be different. And then...
