So Dorothea walked towards the Control Lever beside the
Transmutor Egg and heave away on the giant lever still it
clicked into the ON position.
She then walked up the giant ramp to the Platform and walked
to the center of it and lay down on it on her back.
For some reason her memories of previous transmutations
always ended with her making that step from the edge of the giant ramp onto the Platform.
So Dorothea was pretty sure that afterwards the last thing she'd rememner of this venture as a cloud woman was the potted
air daffodil she'd briefly gazed apon just before she'd stepped onto
the Platfoem.
She'd tried a few previous times to NOT step onto the
Platform after flipping on the Control Lever but nothing
had happened on those instances.Apparently the machine needed a subject on the Platform to begin its cycle.
So the lady scientist just lay there on her back waiting for the
Sky Gods knew what and after a few minutes Dorothea
realized the upper dome was coming down,and from the
scrape and hum beneath her she guessed the lower half of the
egg was rising.
With a "BOOMMM " the two halves connected,sealing Dorothea
inside the Egg.
Then came the harsh deep mechanical voice from inside the
Egg,and although she didn't understand the language the rhythm of the voice sounded like a countdown.
So mentally Dorothea kept count in her own language and
somewhere around the 33 point count there was a flash of energy
and when the glow died away the scientist realized
that she had tripled in height in a microsecond.
She got up but realized the alien voice count was still continuing
so she quickly tossed her torn and burst apart clothes to the
side of the Platform 5 points before there was another flash of energy.
She immediately fell over on all fours as she realized this latest
change left her unable to remember how to stand on two
legs like a hominid.
So it was that the giantess was on all fours when the third wave
of energy swept through the Egg,but this time it didn't die away
but pulsed and throbbed inside Dorothea's mind and body
and she felt herself growing even bigger as her tail,wings,neck
legs,spikes,snout,tongue,horns and other dragonish anatomy
emerged.
Finally the energies died away and Dorothea got a better look at
her changed self.
A giant femle air dragon for sure.
She just just stood there on all fours,tensely awaiting a final
change that might wipe out her human mind and memories
but it never happened and after a while the hum and scrape of the rising and falling domes announced the air dragoness was
free to do her thing......
