Jess had exactly 10 minutes to travel the half mile between the business school to the comp sci building, on opposite sides of the campus.
Normally this was a just a matter of jogging, which was fine as it would help her avoid the 'Freshman 15'. Today however, this was greatly complicated by the massive protest in the middle of campus. Ever since it came out that there was a secret government germ lab hidden on campus, the bioscience building had been surrounded by a ring of hundreds of picketers.
Jess had a plan, when looking for a place to fool around with her boyfriend (without the risk of roommates interrupting), she had found series of tunnels connecting the oldest campus buildings. Probably built out of cold war paranoia, they had been locked shut and forgotten years ago. Fortunately for Jess, the doorjamb on access door in the business schools basement had rotted to the point where the locked door could still be pulled open.
Jess pulled the tunnel door open and broke into a jog, drawing satisfaction in her private express lane across campus, especially knowing she would pass directly under the feet of the disruptive protestors.
Jess paused for a moment as she came across a small fizzing purple puddle on the tunnel floor. She paused in confusion, as far as she could tell she was the first person down here in years.
Drip. She felt a droplet land in her hair. Looking up, she saw the source of the puddle was a crack in the ceiling. Drip. Another droplet detached and landed on her upturned face.
Lacking time to explore the mystery, she resumed her jog. Someone probably spilled an energy drink in a basement room above and it found a crack in the floor.
Jess quietly pressed the exit bar on the door to the comp sci building basement and exited the tunnel. Checking her watch she saw she had five minutes to spare.
Plenty of time to duck into the bathroom and wash the whatever that was off her face.
Looking in the mirror she saw no trace left by the droplet, just her usual self. Brown eyes, shoulder length thick straight chestnut hair. She smiled back at herself, admiring her trim figure. She had inherited her mother's slender frame, further refined refined by years of running cross country in high school. The result was a thin toned body with a nice tight butt and well muscled legs, which she loved to show off in yoga pants like the cobalt blue ones she wore today. At least all her years of exercise hadn't burned the fat off her chest. Some of the other girls on the cross country team had ended up flat as a board as they got lean from running. Jess was proud of her B cups and felt they looked larger than that on her small frame.
Jess broke out of her daze and hurried up to the lecture hall.
