After they had their fun the two families decided to separate and go back to the positions they had before the conjoinment pile. When they did Sharon remembered that she needed to go to the grocery store and get an ingredient to help make the supper. "Hey, honey do you mind if we separate for a while so I can run to the grocery store and pick something up," Sharon told Ethan because she wasn't comfortable having to drag her husband around the store and be gawked at. "Sure thing honey," Ethan replied to his wife. Ethan tried to attempt to separate from his wife but was having a difficult time doing so. "I don't understand what's happening? Why can't we separate?" Ethan said with a puzzled look. "Here let me try," Scott said. Scott also tried to separate from his wife also but met with the same result.
"I don't understand whats going on?" Ethan said. "I hate to say this but there is a good chance this might be permanent." Ethan continued. "WHAT???" Everybody shouted. Sharon started to rise her voice. "Ethan I was all for this conjoined family thing. But just between us. I'm not ready to be stared at it public like this. What would the whole town think if they saw us like this? Also in case your forgetting most of us stuck with the opposite gender." Sharon told Ethan. "Well, Sharon I don't know what we can do?" Ethan told his wife. "Until we can figure something out it looks like this will be our lives." Ethan continued "Besides I don't care if the whole town saw us like this. If other people saw us they could get the idea to do the same thing with their family's and maybe start a trend." Ethan said.
