The army man almost wanted to pass out and or vomit when he saw what had become of him. After the horror of awakening to maggots being put on him, writhing around and drinking his ruined skin and body, he now came to and saw what they had done that for. His skin was returned to him, his body returned to its muscular, vascular form befitting an army man...but now his skin was light green in color. And when he raised his hands he saw they were slightly deformed, into a familiar configuration. His mind was racing and he wavered on his feet.
"What the fucking hell did you guys do to me!?" Thank goodness at least his voice was still his own. Though two small pockets near his throat slightly rose when he raised his voice.
The doctor stated, "First and foremost I am Doctor Solomon, foremost in my field I assure you. In order to regenerate your skin and return you to living condition, I had to---"
"Make me a fucking frog-man!?" Rick didn't know what could become of him at this point. What would his girlfriend think? Her boyfriend, turned into a frog-man. Some kinda freaky frog guy...
A mirror close enough showed Rick the full damage. His face was still mostly human, though the pockets by the side of his throat and how his eyes looked in their sockets told exactly what had been done to him. Rick was thankfully still in muscular shape, and that had not been stolen from him.
He took a moment to try and calm down, and then asked, "...And why...why...did you need to...do this to me?"
"It was the only DNA Implantation suitable, the others would have been rejected by your body." Dr. Solomon started, "And even then I tried to minimize the outward trait manifestation. You'll find you're still at the peak of physical performance, and if anything you might be in better condition."
"So my abs are more toned. That doesn't---urgh...just...dammit, man. I'm fucking GREEN now!" Rick started pacing in a circle, realizing just as well that his skin was moist and naturally produced a layer of what he guessed was ooze that kept him from drying out, like a wild frog did.
Dr. Solomon spoke up, "...Mr. Barber, your girlfriend was aware of the procedure, and she is currently waiting for you to return..." Rick was almost incredulous his girlfriend stuck with him even when he was all green, secreting this stuff, and had his eyes like this. But he guessed she was after all his girlfriend. He felt a warm feeling in his stomach.
"There are however some...side effects." Solomon said, looking to the side.
"Oh joy..." Rick replied, crossing his arms, "Lay em on me, Doc. I'm already a frog-man."
"Well, to be precise you are still a human with frog DNA implanted so as to regenerate your skin and body. However, you will now need 1) to regularly hydrate yourself in a pond or lake so as to avoid dehydration. You may also feel frog-like instincts surface from time to time..."
"Well ain't that great..." Rick snarked under his breath.
"And..." Dr. Solomon said with a darker tone, "You will need to undertake an injection at the same time every day, namely, six o'clock in the evening. This injection will keep the Frog DNA from spreading further and transforming you any more. We will send you month by month supplies until the DNA fully settles and stops threatening to overwhelm you."
Rick breathed and looked to the side, "Well, alright I guess. I'm gonna lead a vastly different life now...better than dead, that's for sure."
Before long, Rick was led out to where his girlfriend was waiting - she immediately ran and embraced him tight and strong. She looked at him with teary eyes and he tried to introduce some levity, "Hey c'mon, you can make me a Prince when we get home." He returned the hug and the two headed out.
