Mr. Spider is one of those Vigilante heroes who are either beloved or treated like the devil. He started one day when he was in a science experiment and blasted with radioactive particles. His DNA was unstable and when he was blasted he stumbled and landed next to a normal spider who bit him, and with his DNA so radioactive and unstable the spider DNA infused in him giving him spider like powers. He had the proportional strength, could stick to walls, was pretty durable, could make a seemingly endless amount of webbing (although he often did get very hungry), and was a skilled enough tailor to make himself a skin-tight suit with some spider motifs.
During his early years many saw his actions similar to that of a criminal, but some saw that he was doing good in his vigilante justice. Some established heroes speculated on him, but seeing as he had been doing no crimes other than stopping/punishing criminals without due process they just kind of turned a blind eye. After all the worst he seemed to do was rough them up, wrap them up, and then let the police take the criminals into custody. Then when super villains came out where he was he did a pretty good job fending them off. Without on organization he did REALLY well for himself and eventually became beloved despite a certain publication piece Weaver's Weekly which always seem to print out a hit piece on Mr. Spider. The Publisher Felix Fine Fetcher just never seemed to let up with his... "cynicism"
On occasion he'd partner up with other heroes, sometimes he'd partner up with a once villain gone semi-straight, and even once joined The Protectors for a bit... before leaving after... certain internal politics occurred. The Protectors and Mr. Spider got on better terms, but one things for certain. Mr. Spider has kept his loved one's out of his super hero life, and no one has a clue who Mr. Spider really could be.
