As Kayla finished her incantation James' arms fell to his sides and he felt his body stiffen. It wasn't an uncomfortable feeling but an unsettling one, as if an extremely powerful form of hypnosis was forbidding him to move. He was beginning to regret volunteering for this "trick".
The beautiful, dark haired young woman stepped forward and ran her hands over James' shoulders and arms, nodding in satisfaction as he failed to move a muscle in response. She then waved a hand in front of his face, almost taunting James whose neutral expression remained unchanged. He didn't flinch or even blink.
"Well, it looks like the first part of my spell worked" Kayla announced with satisfaction as she stepped back from her victim "Would you like to know what the second part is?"
James stared blankly and helplessly at the witch, who giggled mischievously at his predicament.
"Well, I'm going to tell you either way" Kayla smiled triumphantly "I'm going to transfer your mind and soul into the body of an animal and theirs into yours. Pretty clever huh?"
James stared blankly ahead.
"Don't believe me?" Kayla grinned "Well, you'll soon see. Wait here!"
Kayla sauntered out of the tent and scanned the surrounding area for a suitable candidate for the second part of her spell. There were no shortage of options - the circus had a number of performing creatures, there was a small petting zoo nearby, plenty of visitors had bought their pets with them on this sunny day and there were also the critters who lived in the surrounding nature reserve. But which of these should swap bodies with James?
